Who is the best at a Reasonable Price to do a Head Street Porting Job? I have S&S heads not really sure if its needed for a Road King that isn't used on the Drag Strips. Should I do it or forget it? Thanks.

I've been using HD Street Performance. Great price and quality work.

In all honesty, a good serdi valve  job, springs changed and guides goes a long way making an improvement over the way the heads come out of the box.

S&S 124

Gains can be made without too much work
The stock beehive springs are prone to break
Exhaust guides wear really quick
Would also mill and adjust compression
I've done 3 sets since August and the exhaust guides were shot in all of them
None had more than 12000 miles
Cylinders are the next issue

S&S heads need a lot more work to get decent air thru them than stated here,we like to use HD 110 heads on our 124 builds.after porting,we`re seeing 325 cfm @ 28"+,your not going to get that cfm thru S&S heads with just SEDRI seatwork (yes we have a SEDRI 100)call us & we can go over your options

A 124hc puts down 130hp right out of the box with a decent pipe when the rings are sealing. If you add compression they will move up another 10 with just bowl work. What TorqueInc said about the guides is right. I just replace the guides and do a little bowl work, CC the chambers, and a serdi valve job and send them off most of the time. If you want to move up the ladder these heads will rival the CVO110 heads with just a slightly larger valve. One running around Tacoma here is at 149hp at a local shop and it is a carbureted dyna. S&S crate stock bottom end still.

That said what is "Best"? Least expensive? Not in my opinion. Best in my opinion is increasing longevity with premium parts first then working on performance.  A crate 124 has an S&S bolt pattern so a CVO110 head swap isn't even practical. That said the best will be one that fixes the issues including guides and springs, as mentioned by TorqueInc, and raises the performance level within reason and budget. Another item, I am not a fan of the S&S valves and if budget allows change them to Ferrea. The S&S intake does not have enough margin for one valve grind and both of them have a huge dish which wastes combustion chamber volume.

i agree the OP shouldnt be looking for the least expensive, but look for the best job & parts for the price.S&S heads here get AV&V valves, bronze guides & extensive porting, then SERDI seat work & they flow very well when done, but it takes more than a valve job.(wasnt suggesting he goes to 110 heads either, just stating what we use on 124" builds here,BUILDS,not crate motors)
