picked up my bike today
« on: November 05, 2004, 08:37:26 PM »

ordered and paid for the  harley 360 degree highway peg mounting kit.  when I came back to pick up the bike, they mounted a different bracket and said the 360 would not
clear the fairing.  anyone know if this is so?  What they mounted looks great with the chrome billet pegs but is to short for my leg.  They have only installed highway pegs on one other 2005 and  that was in the shop I tried his highway pegs and they were a little long.
I really liked how you could adjust the ones I ordered   to angle  from the side.
I can't believe how much I love the bike and how well it handles .  It so beautiful.
You know I was nervous about spenting 33,000 on a bike but when I rode I keep saying this is why it cost so much.

It was extremely windy.   The  bike was the most stable one I have ever ridden.  I had great music playing. I was coming around the mountains, I leaves were beautiful.
It was religious.  I just want to ride this bike.

The 360 pegs worked when I put the 05 vented lowers on my 04,  in fact I didn't even have to adjust them so not sure what the dealers is talking about.

Why would anyone PAY someone to install highway pegs??? Go back and get what you ordered and stop by Sears on the way home, buy some tools and install what you want, not what the min wage guy at the dealer was not smart enough to understand. I am sure the adjustable deal blew his mind, he gave up and told you something to make you go away.

I got the 360 deg highway peg mounting kit and it fits fine on my o/b pumpkin with the airfoil pegs, so the dealer is either trying to clear some old stock or doesn't know what he is talking about

I had no problem installing the pegs without removing the lowers.  It was a snap......took about 10 minutes.

YOUR SAYING THEY WERE THE HARLEY DAVIDSON 360 DEGREE HIGHWAY MOUNTS FROM THEIR CATOLOG.   AND THEY FIT WITH NO CLEARANCE PROBLEMS ON THE NEW 2005 LOWERS.    IS THAT CORRECT?
I CHECKED  WITH ANOTHER HARLEY DEALER AND THEY CONFIRM THEIR WAS A CLEARANCE PROBLEM.

I have the pegs mounted and can take the lowers on and off without touching or adjusting the pegs.  Not sure why they are telling you they won't work.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Dallas,

Make the MotoCo aware of your issue regarding the dealership or the matter,

Let's ensure resoultion to preserve the scooter.

Enjoy the ride.

Nothing to be taken off in order to fit these, just a little bit of care and attention when doing so and most importantly, dont rush
