What are they?  If you had to do it all over again and your bike was stock again, what 3 would you absolutely have to have because, they are just so good.  For whatever reason.

What 3 mods were a mistake, you would undo it if you could, or maybe you did undo do, they didnt live up to their expectation?

Ok, I'll start.  I only have one mod so far, a battery tender.  Great functional piece of equipment I would put on each and every bike I ever own again.

Latest in dash navigation/cd/dvd/mp3 system

Stage 1-2 kit as an alternative to the baker DD6

I've done a lot of mod's with help from everyone on this site, but I'm like Hd-dude, there hasn't been one to date that has not made my 05 better.

Red bike has seen a handful of modifications or accessories.  Assuming that everyone gets the exhaust and air cleaner as automtically reuired options the ones I'd have to do over again immediately if starting from scratch would be those that made the bike safer and better to ride.  First thoughts would be:

Rear Suspension (in my case Progressive 440s)
HID Headlight
Corbin seat
that cheap little Stebel air horn

Of everything I've done with the red bike were I limited to just doing three things (plus the horn) from scratch it'd be those.  They make the bike much safer and much more comfortable to ride.  Other things I'd love to do if allowed would be:


For driveability:
the cam change (bang for the buck better improvement than the rest of the top end rebuild)
Thundermax w/autotune
Wild1 handlebars
those little spacers to move the footboards out

For convenience or pleasure of the ride:
HawgWired amps
Storage pouches on the glove box doors

For appearance:
Diamond cut and powder coat
chrome starter (especially in conjuction with true dual pipes)

Lots of other things done.  Those would be the favorites though.

As to things that didn't work out in practice; I had a mismatched rain gauge and sent it back.  It's easy to get a windscreen height wrong the first time you order.  And watch out for LED accessories on the main light harness.  Some look far better than they work and most will require some extra bits to keep all systems working correctly.

That was almost a spew.  You broke your lists down to a bit more detail than I did.  Never counted things like the lock when completing the tour pak or other sundries.  Just the thought of actually listing EVERYT DAMN DETAIL might part of the chair I'm on suddenly pucker in to a dark unwelcoming place  .
