Out of curiosity as I am in this boat as well but I actually have the POS SESTP. I'm putting a header on and want to move to either the Power Vision or the ThunderMax. I'm looking towards the TM so I can swap back in the ECU.
Any comments on the differences between these two?
I have the powervision as well. I like the fact that the powervision allows the factory functionality of the ECU but allows you to play with it. The thundermax is wideband as opposed to continuing to use the narrowband O2 sensors. You can run a mixture that is richer with wide band that will get better performance than the narrow band OEM setup.
However, if I want to switch to wide band, I would get the Dynojet Target Tune addon for the powervision. This would allow you to have the continued use of the factory ecu and diagnostic function with wide band capabilities.
If I want to go back to factory config I can reflash the original tune that was backed up when the bike was married to the ECU.
I am in no way an expert just done a bit of homework and still a lot to learn..
One thing to consider using wide band setup like these is that you mileage will go down but the bike will run better, have more power but run cooler as well. So I guess it depends on your goal...
I am still pondering the wide band setup with Target Tune. It would be nice to run at 13.5 AFR but I would try to run leaner at cruise speed for better mileage.
Not sure how I can check that shouldn't have sold the wide band I had in my sportster... for tuning I guess...
