Was under my Bike today and noticed what looks like a split in the front half of  my motor mount.

Do any of you know if the bottom mount should be open ?  Or should it be round and closed all around. [smiley=shocked2.gif]

The motor mount should be smooth all the way around on both the top and bottom.  It should have a steel bushing in the center for the bolt and then surrounded on the top and bottom by rubber doughnuts - in appearance.  The rubber appears to be all one piece-molded with the steel bushing in the center.  If you see a split, you'd better replace it.  If you need it, I can post a picture of a good one.

Well it was cracked and I droped it off at the dealer on Friday.
Do any of you know if after it's replaced  is it going to crack again?
Or did HD go something about it cracking?

It's a pretty common problem.  Try and keep oil off of it when changing the filter, some say it might contribute to the problem.
