Thanks for the kind words Guys! I really appreciate it.
Here's a little tech info and story. The M8 Sportpipe is something that I had been playing with for quite a while and actually gave up on. The dyno testing started at the end of 2016 when the M8 was released. I would build prototype headers by cutting up a stocker and using the primarys. I quickly learned with the M8 there was big power to gain by lengthening the primarys. The stock header has the ends crimped into a D shape. I would just cut them back a few inches and continue with round tubing. The majority of my competitors took the easy route. Their 2-1-2 pipes have stock length primarys and are not any better than a decatted stocker. About a 3 HP gain. I had zero interest in this. I had seen the dyno numbers and was hell bent on longer primarys. Making these long tubes, and an X collector fit under stock shields and then with a crossover was no easy task. It took me quite a while to sort it all out into something that was repeatable in a production environment. I kept at it and we have our MX Pipe today to show for all the hard work. So back to the Sportpipe. I still wanted to build a long tube economy header using the stocker but what to do with this D shaped tubing? I had tried 5 different ways to form the D but just kept crushing the tubing, eventually I gave up and threw it in the corner. I was really frustrated because I knew this thing would hit hard on the bottom end if I could figure out how to stretch the D shaped primarys. About a year later an old childhood friend of mine named Dave Willey came to work for us. As kids, Dave and I built mini bikes, go carts and anything we could fit a "borrowed" lawn mower engine on. We dragged raced Vw's in our early 20s until we drifted apart in life. Dave continued on to work for truly talented people and developed his skill set to a very hi level. Dave's resume includes years of fabricating for the late Boyd Coddington and Hot Rod Icon Chip Foose. Dave was seen in many episodes of Over Haulin but hated the camera and moved on to 6 years of trophy truck building for the Terrible Herbst race team. Now, Dave has downshifted a couple of gears and resides in Lake Havasu. On his first day working for us I showed Dave my abandoned Sportpipe project. He laughed, fabbed up a custom die in a few hours and had us forming D shaped tubes like pros. Sometimes you have to ask for help, it's better than giving up. I'm very fortunate to have this level of talent in house. Today, Dave himself is the man building the new M8 Sportpipe after he brought it back from the dead. I want to give credit where credit is due. Dave Willey is an amazing talent.
Here's Dave giving my Raptor a little more tire clearance. Along with a few other minor mods.
