The UPS truck couldn't handle the weight of all the boxes of shocks going to Woodstock :huepfenlol2:

With the Progressives IAS 440s in the range of just over $400 something that is only a little more expensive but a lot better may be a tough nut to crack TC.  They actually are pretty good shocks.  The improvement felt going from stock Showa's to them is significant.

Obviously don't know what "better" might feel like on these bikes as it's not been experienced.  But what we've got there isn't bad.  Given their described predilection for going into competition against one of their own contractors and colleagues it's an open question how interested they might be to pursue such a product; even if it could be produced and then sold profitably in the price range hoped for.

Don...I've heard nothing but good things about the Progressive's, and the price point is really hard to beat.  Remembering that these guys are comparing things to Penske Racing Shocks and the like, on race bikes, it's hard to get a good feel from them about "other" stuff, including Legends.  I have nothing to compare to other than what's on the back of the V (not sure what those are), what WAS on the Ultra, and the closer to top end Showa stuff that is on the Ducati, front and rear.  If something could be developed in the 700 to 1K range, that is comparable to something like they're used to feeling, there would be a market, I think.  For that matter, I don't know how much "better" the Legends are than anything but the POS stock units.  They just have other functionality for me, so work well.  It would be nice to have something that was better, but not as pricey, if that's even possible.

Even more good things to say about Traxxion Dynamics.  When I was there and got the work done the bill was paid the end of the day.  No questions asked.  It was a little more than I thought I remembered it was supposed to be.  But I'd brought nothing with me and also simply didn't remember for sure.

Upon returning home found the emails we'd exchanged including the price quote.  All tolled the billing was off a couple hundred bucks.  I knew they'd spent a lot longer on my bike than they'd planned on.  So I wasn't complaining.

Did drop them a note asking if the billing was right though.  Included the original emails with it.  Told them in the accompanying message that any answer was fine and I would continue to be completly happy with the work done.  In no time at all had a refund check for the price difference.

Given all the problems we all seem to have far to regularly with vendors of all stripe here it is great to find one that does great work, with a great product, and does it all when and how they say they're going to.  Traxxion Dynamics is a breath of fresh air compared to so many others we get stuck having to deal with.  Thanks again to Max and his entire team.  It's a great shop and a great product.

Hey Guys this sounds like a sweet system and I'm thinking I'm likeing all I've read... :apple:
One question comes to mind and I dont think I read about it on the forum or at least this topic anyway...
How do you change the fluids when its time to be changed...
How long does the fluids last before they need to be addressed...
Is this something we'll have to send back to the company to get them to do?
What kinda maintance will be involved with the system? If any... :confused5:
What about warrenty? having the system for the length of time you have had are you noticing anything different in the way it handles as compared to when it was new? I ask because since its mechanical its prone to ware and since its prone to ware is the handling any different? :nervous:
Thanks

Paul,
Take a look here at this pic I liberated from their website.  You'll see that the top and bottom separate pretty much like they always did when one needs to service.  I don't remember what the fluid volume requirement was off the top of my head.

They've got a much more expensive option that would do away with fork oil changes completely.  For this, however, the fluid change won't really be any more complicated than it was to begin with.

Paul...I'll direct Max to this thread on Monday, but in my conversations with them, they reccomend oil every 20-25K, and a take apart and check parts every 50K.  So every other fluid change they'd need to be taken completely apart if you want them checked to specifications.

Based on the reporting from Twolane and TC, I immediately removed my fork tubes and sent them to Woodstock yesterday.  I can't wait to experience the improvements that have been discussed in this thread.  As always, thanks for the great information.

It's going to be a race between Roger and Bob to see who gets to be guinea pig 03.  Just because Bob is so much closer geographically my money is on him.  But Roger is damn sneaky.  So it's not a safe bet by any means.

I thought I was gonna be done this winter after new fxair rear suspension, chrome oil pan and stereo upgrades.....

This TD fork upgrade sounds too good to pass up :)

I've always bitched about the stock frontend, too jumpy on studder bumps, always wallowing around, mushy & no feedback!

I was originally planning on just going w/progressive springs and heavier oil....But the more I read Terry & Don's input the more I feel I need to do the TD upgrade.

Great input Don & Terry.

My final decision will be made after hearing from Boatman & Roger. That will make it 100%.
