Need Advice - Pipes '05 Ultra
« on: November 10, 2004, 08:01:40 AM »

New to board - Just replaced '01 Classic totaled by deer.

What is your opinion on slip on pipes and true exhaust system.  I had SE slip ons and was not really satisfied with sound.

Looking at reinheart system.

Any comments [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Ultraman welcome to the site. I installed the Freedom pipes on mine (modified Rhineharts) and like the deep sound and love the performance increase.  Check out some of the older threads theres been a lot of talk hear on exhaust.

I have to 2nd Mr. Magoo - the freedom pipes sound awesome and perform great.  I'm thinking about replacing the pipes on my SERK with them as well.

Before you deceide I hope you get to listen to a HD with D & D performance, 2 into 1 with fake left side.  They are out of Fort Worth, TX.  Fit, quality and sound are perfect.  Check some of the old threads.

I'd stay away from the D & D's unless you want your buddies to ask you when you bought a Honda. These are metric people that saw a chance to make a few bucks in the HD market. Parts still look METRIC. my opinion only.

DW;
I've heard good things about the D&D's but never seen them. Do you know of a website or post with pics??

Sorry, I do not know of a webpage for the D & D. I just see them on the Honda Shadows and stuff around here. They are very "Fat" looking, nothing I would have for free. But that is just me.

Thanks MFG and Hotlineguy for the D&D info.  Been searching for the right look and sound for my custom '03 Duece with a recent 103 install.  2 into 1 is on the way.  For Hotlineguy...as a native Texan currently killing time in FL, there's no way anything from Fort Worth could be less than the best! The reason the D&D "look a little fat" may have something to do with the model name.

I like the D&D's too except that IMO the true duals look better where the rear pipe doesn't cover the tranny.
