I am using the D&D Fat Cat and performance is excellent and the tone is perfect for my needs. They are also priced right you can buy them for about $550 + $200 for ghost pipe with 3/4 heat shields and no modifications to install them they fit perfect!!! [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

Curious MAS as to which S/E mufflers you have. HD makes so many different combinations. Do you have the 65115-98B's. These have a good/deep sound. The cheaper ones to me don't. Just wondering as the Pro pipes are no longer in the big catalog and I heard a counter person at the Local dealer tell a man they were no longer made as they are not in the BIG catalog. He was corrected.

I believe that is the part number for my mufflers, I have the one piece that is listed in the Screaming eagle catalog. They do have a deep sound. I am unclear as to the options of SE mufflers as I see a lot of reference to SE two piece mufflers in which you can change out the baffles. On mine you can not. I wonder if the two piece are our stock touring mufflers

The "2-Piece" mufflers differ as do the fixed end mufflers. But the Mac Daddy Pro S/E Mufflers that are only listed in the S/E catalog are part #65115-98B and only come with the changeable end caps. They are not at ALL like the ones that came on our bikes. Our bikes came with "touring Mufflers" that are EPA/CARB legal. The 115's are different totally. Check out which # you have, you want the 115"s and whatever type end cap you prefer. The end caps that came on the bike will not fit the 115"s. They are on Page # 87 of the S/E '04 Catalog. You can easily alter the 115's if they are not loud enough or have to much backpressure to suit you. The complete muffler just slips out when the end cap is removed. That does not mean the fixed end mufflers are not O.K, just not as easy to work with. The 2-piece are also the only ones with the Screamin Eagle logo on them.

I have the 65115-98B's as I put the double groove billet end caps on them and they say "screaming eagle" on the side but I will check the part number when I get home. I bought them to break in the bike with as I could not stand the sound of the stock touring mufflers. Anyways, per my memory the SE catalog refers to them as one piece performance mufflers but good to know the baffles are changeable. I have seen race tuner and PC maps refer to SE two piece mufflers with Kerker and PAT baffles in them. These must be them.

The 65115-98B is according to the catalog is the two piece muffler. The 64903-99 is the one piece slash down muffler.  According to my dyno guy and the mech. at the dealership the one piece (64903-99) is louder and flows better, at least out of the box. The dyno guy showed me the dyno runs comparing the one piece SE muffler to the same bike with the Kerker mufflers (supposedly similar to the two piece) and the one piece made about 4 lbs more torque in the lower rpm ranges but the Kerker made about 2 lbs more than the one piece at around 5000 rpm.

The Two piece muffler baffles can be made to flow as much as you want with very little effort. The Mikuni Baffles will fit these cannistors as well as will the Kerkers. The local dyno shop here totally contradicts the finding posted above and say the one piece stuff is junk, they only recommend the two piece units. To each his own and I guess who can feel 4#. But more is always better.

DW,
I'm really not advocating one over the other, just passing on info. I have both styles. I have a hard time making decisions and just like with the windshields and tail lights and some other things I wind up buying a couple and then deciding which I like best. In the case of the SE mufflers I like the loudness of the one piece and it seems to maybe pull a little better on the very low end but I like the looks and the mellow tone of the two piece mufflers.  Also I don't get as much popping when I let off the throttle with the two piece. That is probably due to the fact that the map in the race tuner for our bikes specifies the two piece part number and not the one piece.

I have read in other posts about the Mikuni PAT baffles from Kerker. Does anyone have any Dyno numbers with these? IF they do in fact slip in to our stock cans and work well this would be a great inexpensive alternative. In doing some research I found them in the Drag catalogue (part#100-7857 baffles only) they have a note on the PAT slip ons that they are not for injected models [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

THE 65115-98B SCREAMING EAGLE PROFORMANCE PIPES ARE, IN MY OPINION THE BEST
AVAILABLE.   THEY ARE BUILT EXTREMELY WELL, ARE THE BEST LOOKING, SOUND GREAT.
AND WITH STAGE ONE KIT AND MAPPING OFFER EXCELLENT PREFORMANCE.
I HAD THEM ON MY RK AND HAVE THEM ON MY SEEG.  I LOVE THEM.

I just ordered two baffles they should be at the dealer Tuesday. The HDmaps for the race tuner I have seen show only one baffle installed in the right muffler but that may have to do with the stock system. I have the Vance and Hines Dresser Duals in my garage and an appointment for the 1000 mile service and dyno tune on Wednesday. So by Friday I should know about the fitment of the baffles and pipes along with some numbers on the dyno.

Thanks MAS Are you going to keep the stock muffllers and use the V&H headpipes? I look forward to the update. Do you have the part number of the baffles you ordered?
