OK, I have been drawn to the dark side. I removed the spacer and reinstalled the heel shifter recently and I have to say I like it. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. :2vrolijk_21:

Got started on metrics and just got use to toe shift only

It took me a while to figure what that extra shift lever was for

I just assumed spare parts when the forward broke

HeHe! That's funny! I used to always use mine. I removed it a few month's back and don't miss it. Love the extra room too! I changed my vote! :2vrolijk_21:

Used to use the heel shift, tired of scraping floorboards, installed forward controls last year at MB and have been toe shifting ever since

I just cannot get comfortable lifting my heel up and on the rear arm...always feel I am gonna jam it to the floorboard without an actual shift...due to stripping it.

Probably use it more when cruising with the legs on the Highway bars...

Hate to be Captain Obvious here.............but it depends on which motorcycle I'm riding.  If riding Thumper, I heel upshift.  If riding the Sportster, I toe upshift.

I remember when I got the 02 Ultra I hated the notion of heel upshift, so I removed that lever and upshifted with my toe.  Enter Thumper.  Figured I'd give it a try, and I'm glad I did.  I like it much better than toe upshift.

I didn't heel shift until approx 1 year ago. Now I mess up when I'm riding one without a heel shifter unless it's my 84 Low Glide. Go figure!

Sometimes I do, But not always. The rest of the time, I simply do it the other way. But, if I'm on the other bike, I'm exactly the opposite, but not always.

Hope that clears it up.  :2vrolijk_21:
