Was going to install WHIM kit myself, seems pretty straight forward.

Question is: I had the dealer turn on the WHIM option so I could use Android Auto on bike, kind of retarded that HD would not just do this as a factory setting, but that is a subject for another day.

My question is when they did this was that actually a "flash" so I can now use the WHIM after I install the kit, or does it still need to go to the dealer to be flashed? Dealer said they would install for $200 so if it needs to be flashed anyway, may just have them also do install at that price.

Any help would be appreciated as always.

If the WHIM setting is turned on it will recognize the module when you install it.

Thanks for link, just not sure what that module does. I have Android auto after upgrade and have all the functions he has in video. What I do not have (and can't have unless you have WHIM installed) is the availability to use your microphone with Car play or Android auto. That module confuses me as it does not appear to do anything I do not already have. Maybe I am missing something?

Thought same, but he didn't use a microphone in the youtube video. No matter, I bought the WHIM months ago, was debating dealer install or me. Slow time at work and winter in NC mountains, so might DYI now that I know GTS does not have to be flashed again.
