« on: February 05, 2021, 12:44:56 PM »

Has anyone experienced not having enough volume on their 2020 RG CVO at speeds over 75?

Make sure that the volume is all the way up on your source (phone, iPod, whatever) also if your windshield is allowing too much wind to hit your ears that would have an adverse affect. A full face helmet would also block out sound.

Source is turned all the way up. Changed out windshield to a higher level. Also turned off speed control volume. Wondering if H-D amps are not working correctly. Supposed to have 2 amps with this CVO model??

Yep  If it's a Boom II system.    1 under the Fairing for the Front 2 speaks and one in the left saddlebag for the saddlebag speaks....     Are you plugging in directly and using CarPlay or Android Auto??   I think that overrides the volume settings on your phone output.   I have no problem hearing mine at interstate speed.   Its all stock. Boom II.   Ohio is a no helmet state so a helmet might make it harder to hear....

I think the Ultra was a Boom I system?   Makes a big difference.    Not sure what Bonez actually has...  If it's a 2020 CVO Road Glide then it has to be Boom II  -  I don't think they made the Ultra CVO in a road glide 2020.

Its a Boom II system. Weird thing is H-D claims I have 2 Amps With two speakers w/tweeters in the fairings and Speakers in the saddlebags... sounds great when parked but honestly my 2015 Streetglide stock w/o amp sounded better at high speed. Do I need to switch out? Disappointing to say the least

You should have plenty of volume with that setup. Make sure the plugs on the backside of your saddle bags are plugged in properly.

The stereo systems in the CVO's are garbage. I have the 2019 CVO Street Glide. 3 amps, 6 speakers, 900 watts. Distorts above half volume and has so much treble, it's ear piercing. I know the 2021 have the new Rockford Fosgate but I haven't heard that they are much better. Sound like Rockford Fosgate made a low end line for Harley. Pretty sad that a 40K plus bike has such a chit stereo. I'm in the current process of upgrading. Sounds like you need to get rid of everything but the head unit. And Harley wonders why there sales are heading down.

Upgrade amp and speakers with soundz customz.   Your problem is solved. Stuart.

My understanding is there are 2 profiles for the boom ll system, one for the jiffiy stand and one for riding.  My ear says yes (but I could be wrong) that info was sourced on this site.  I have a 17 CVO SG with lowers and added the lower speakers (HD kit) for total of 6 and have no issue hearing at freeway speeds at half volume with stock screen and half helmet.  Occasionally on a good song I go up to 3/4 volume. Also, I'm using Spotify on my phone with Wifi connected and 2 bars from full phone volume for comparison.

How do you access the profiles? Maybe it’s a setting I need to change??

I never really looked into it myself, my understanding was there was no access but I don't know if anyone really looked that deep into it.  Maybe someone who knows could chime in.

The speed volume setting adjusts the volume according to vehicle speed. This function allows the volume to be set to a comfortable level while the motorcycle is stopped or traveling slowly. The volume automatically increases to compensate for engine, wind and other ambient noise factors as vehicle speed increases.
