Thanks for the post CVO. I just joined. I've heard of this group but hadn't checked it out. This gave me the opportunity to visit their site. I'm proud to join a group that supports our brave men and women out there defending my freedom day in and day out! I have been a member for several months and have unfortunately had the occasion to ride in two escorts. The families were extremely appreciative of the support with family members walking from bike to bike following the services to personally thank each and every person who rode. It is a very humbling experience that causes one to reflect on all aspects of our lives and beliefs. Regardless of whether or not someone is in favor of or against the war, I would hope they would consider joining as it is the soldier that we are showing our respect for by riding, not the politicians or others with their own personal agendas.  Continuing with that chain of thought, (and apologies in advance if the following is perceived as a thread  hijacking),  I could not believe what was recently on the news regarding someone burning a soldier's  image in effigy.  I have always supported our rights and freedoms and  have always thought that a person  had the  constitutional right to do just about anything they wanted to do as long as their actions did not harm their fellow man including, though I would personally never do or  approve of such an action,  the right to burn a flag if they wanted to.  Guess I was also a little scared of the application of the so called "slippery slope" doctrine, once you have taken one right away the process has started and no one knows where it will end.  However without a doubt our soldiers deserve better than these recent actions and becoming a member of the Patriot Guard is one way of telling the world that you care and fully support them.

I'm telling ya, If you can do anything to help anyone serving this country its not enough. They here a lot of crap over there and they think thats how all of us feel, its not, its just the crap our liberal media wants to feed us. Whenever I see a person in uniform, I shake thier hand and tell them thank you for what you do! Its not much, but they appreciate it. If I EVER  saw someone try to interupt a service of one of these hero's,  I dont know what I'd do, but there better be someone there to help that poor bastard because he's going to need it! Could you imagine? Dont get me started! Thanks for joining, do what you can!

I'm a member and have attended several missions (read funerals).  It's a great group and I agree that everyone should consider it.  They have been invited to have a 100 bike contingent to ride a parade lap prior to the Las Vegas race on Easter!  Too bad I'll be enroute back from England or I'd definitely be there.

I've been a member for about a year now.  First ride I made was to escort a young Marine Lieutenant killed in Iraq through his hometown neighborhood enroute to the funeral home.  Couldn't believe the turnout.  Made the last turn onto his childhood street and there was a group of students from his high school standing on the corner with flags and a sign.  Real tough watching those kids.  Just a bit further down the street, came to his home.  His parents, his expectant wife and their young son were standing on the sidewalk with a throng of other family, friends and neighbors.  Just as the hearse reach the family, his son saluted.  Tough trying to stay upright and wipe your eyes.
This is well worth your time and energy.

Been a member for a while now. Make the effort to partake in a mission, you'll be doing a great thing. You'll touch many souls with support in a time of need just by being there, their sacrifice and the group will touch your soul just by being there also.

Just joined up. We had two police officers shot and killed in Moncks Corner over the weekend. The funeral is Saturday.

Thanks for the heads about this fine and wonderful way to pay tribute to honor our troops. I had never heard of it, but when hogbreath told me about it, it was a no brainer that it's the very least way to honor our freedom fighters (regardless of the politics). And yes, reading that site had tears streaming down my face to think that ANYONE has the audacity to protest (even tho they have that right) someone who's job was to defend their freedom to have that right.

Thanks to all the men and women that let me and my family sleep safely. NO thanks will ever convey the gratitude I feel.
