Rear end redo?
« on: March 31, 2007, 12:30:27 PM »

No everyone it is not what you think! I have however drooled with envy over the wide tail look that FBI makes. The cost of 4to 5 thousand has put that in the "only in your dreams" catagory.  As an alternative, I would appreciate everyones opinion on the following bag extensions, fender changes, and saddlebag filler options. Fireman Joe option (would use milwaukee bagger extended saddle bags and possibly Street Gilde effects for rear fender)

Boy, I don't know John.  None of them really look spatially proportionate.  Too big in one area or too long in another relative to what's going on around them.

Here's a B/B from MV '05. Didn't see it this year. Anybody know who's bike it is, and what kit/parts that are on it?

That was funny Gary.  That guy just showed up.  Our whole crew was there.  In he comes.  He didn't know anything about us and none of us knew him.  Just a coincidence we were all at the same place at the same time.  If I remember correctly he was only there one night too.  I think his parts were a Corbin package.

Ok, thanks (I thought you might know since it was parked next to yours ;D). I like the look. I think that it would be better to do something like this then to put a wide tire kit on the bike. This way you don't see much of the tire so it doesn't matter the width of it. Gives the appearance of a wide(r) tire but none of the handling problems associated w/that. To do something like this I think I would try to find some used saddlebags on eBay to put the extensions on. Don't plan on selling my bike but I do think it would bring more if I had all the factory sheet metal/fiberglass/plastic/whatever to go on it. I think people don't mind extra chrome, but when you go to changing colors or stock look of a CVO some might be turned off.

Reo, your right that is from FBI for the rear. looks real similar to the Arlen Ness version. However as you can see this is an actual wire tire conversion. Was not real interested in the wide tire just wider fender to make it LOOK like a wide rear. JOhn
