FRONT AIR RIDE SUSPENSION CONVERSION
On a 1993 FLHS I had the front air suspension. I liked it vary much for the following reason,
Air ride allowes me to adjust for stiff , a day in the twisties
Or Softer for those 800 mile days .
There are a lot of cartridge set ups here on the boards but I feel it is like trying to shoot an ant with a buffalo rifle. I am sure this post will get reply’s from their reps and their customers who have spent thousands of dollars to install them.
Before you come out swinging I AM NOT KNOCKING ANYONE’S PRODUCT or ANYONE'S PREFERENCE for this solution.
What I am after is some discussion from anyone who actually owned a bike with this feature, and anyone who actually used it.
My 2007 has a soft front end. I asked my SM about putting HD 15 WT(actual WT Not disclosed) fork oil in to stiffen up the front end. He said he did not recommend that. He also said give me a few days to research this and give you a better solution. Keep in mind he has an open check book on my bike and I have 10K + in receipts on my 07 so far, He is not afraid to spend my money, Just like you guys

A few days ago after the Dyno was done I asked him what he had come up with. Much to my delight, yes I was glad! He suggested converting my front forks to air. He said it is a simple drill and tap a few air lines done! Remember he knows I would do springs or cartridges if he suggested. I told him I had it on my 93 FLHS and I loved it. It less than a minuet I can adjust my suspension front and rear 3 minutes and be on the road with the proper suspension for that days event. Or at a rest break during a ride,.
So I want all of your feed back, good or bad.
Thanks in advance,
