Talked with Tony on the phone yesterday...he's being told that they may "close" him up today and release him tomorrow.  It doesn't look good at all for him making up to York, even in a cage.  I didn't expect that he would be up to it.  He seemed in good spirits other than he was missing out on the York trip.  I told him just to get well and that there is plenty of riding season ahead to break that new Jester in properly.
Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

Thanks for the TC update, he will feel a lot better and the weather will be much warmer when he is ready to ride. - See you on thursday

Thanks for the report. Next time you talk to him let him know he doesn't have to rush himself getting healed any of us that are in Virginia/MD/DC don't have any problem w/coming and taking his bike out and putting some break-in miles on it. That should be incentive enough for him to do what the Doc's tell him so he can heal quickly. ;D

Yep, he'd be all for that.   ;)  I think that's probably more guarded then Fort Knox is.  ::)  If I know Tony, he'll more than make up for it when he can ride again.

Everyone,
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.  Been a tough couple of weeks.  A little synopsis.
Picked up the Jester Wednesday, 11 April.  Pretty cool and threatening rain so Phyllis didn't want to ride - took the trailer.
Have a couple of pictures to post of pickup.  I ran the odometer up to 2 whole miles  :(.
Brought the bike home parked it in the garage.  Added the goodies - Clearview, J&M antennas, etc., adjusted passenger boards, rider pegs, Wed night.
Went to work Thursday AM.  Got really bad "gas" pains around 1330.  Stayed at work until 1600 or so.  Drove home.  Chewed some Tums.  Wife said I looked even more like chit than normal and asked if I needed to go the hospital.  No, I'm fine - silly me.
About 1800, gave up the ghost.  Pain was pretty near unbearable.  Had moved up into my chest and I was beginning to worry a bit about the old ticker (been there, done that got the scar). Told the wife to take me to the ER.
Got there and docs proceeded to go through various scenarios - aortic aneurisum, perforated bowel and/or stomach, etc., etc., lot's of fun for the family - oh yeah, I was already medicated for the pain and didn't really care  ;).
CT scan finally revealed the appendix as culprit.  Surgeon didn't want to operate until I was cleared by a cardiologist.  Went to surgery late Friday.  Out about 2100.  Surgeon said it was the largest appendix he'd ever removed (~5-6 inches).
Sat/Sun pretty much a fog.  Well medicated.  Incision was left open since the appendix ruptured and spread nasties all around the abdomen.  Doc closed me up Monday nite (needed LOTS more pain meds!!).
Released late Wednesday.  Everything went pretty well until Sat AM when I woke up with a bit of a headache, took a couple of Tylenol and when I went back to bed, felt like some one was tossing my head around the room.  Wife called doc and he said to get me to the ER.  Ambulance ride back to the ER where I'm diagnosed with vertigo - can you believe this??
Got everything pretty much in check now.  No paid meds since last Tue.  Vertigo is there but controlled.  Seeing my doc tomorrow for followup on cardiology stuff and vertigo and see the surgeon on Thursday.
Expect I'll know more about when I can finally ride the Jester later this week.
The only picture I'll post today is of my first love and my most recent "mistress".
She's a beautiful bike and the good Lord willing, I'll eventually get some miles on her.
Again - thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers and I hope to see you soon on the road.
Be safe,
Tony

Charlie,
You may be on to something. :2vrolijk_21: He's not going to have to worry about us. If he lets that bike sit around to long w/out taking Mrs. T for a ride she's going to take it out herself. ;D

Tony,

Keep us updated on your progress.  I have a head start on the Jesterthon.  I've got 300 miles on her and looking for a whole lot more this weekend.

We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you recover.

I finally got a chance to put a few miles on the Jester this weekend.   Avoided Rolling Thunder - didn't want to get caught up in that traffic while trying to do a break in.
Anyway, the bride and I did about 400 miles over the last couple of days.  The bike is great.  Tracks like it's on rails - no wobble.  Is it hot - you bet!  I hit an "all time high" of 247 at one point on Sunday.  Ambient temperature ~92 degrees.  I swear I could have smoked a rack of ribs.  Will have bike serviced within next week or so.  Change out fluids to Amsoil and Redline.  SERT install, true duals.  Hope that will help.  At 1000 miles will have dyno'd.
Now for a bit of gratitude to this site and it's members -
Thanks to the person that started the LED thread for the CUSE.  I know that TCinBham carried it a step or two further and others posted their trials and tribulations (and photos).  With the guidance from this site, the install was a "no brainer".  I received many positive comments on the bike over the last two days - but everyone thought the LED run/brake light was the bomb!  Thanks!
Thanks to Chief for the hint on getting the three bag window pouch to fit a bit better on the CUSE.  Took your advice - worked like a champ.
To everyone who raved about the Clearview windshields.  Great product!  Absolutely love it.
Glare - you guys are too much!  That stuff is great.  A bit over 200 miles yesterday down to the Chesapeake.  Tons of bugs.  Caught in a downpour 30 minutes from home on the way back.  Washed the bike this AM.  Bugs, grime, road film, seemed to just slide off.  Unbelievable!  Great stuff.  Of course I've got to do the wife's car next ;D.
It's great to finally find out what these bikes ride and perform like, not to mention the added barbecuing capability  :huepfenlol2: - smoked thigh, anyone?
Hope these pictures come out okay - I don't think they really do the bike justice.
Again, thanks to everyone who willingly give advice on this site.  It's a great place to learn!
Be safe,
TCinVA

TC I'm glad to see you're well enough to get in the saddle. The bike looks awesome (kind of looks familiar  :D)  Go ride that baby!
