Calibrating the AirGauge
« on: November 17, 2004, 10:05:35 PM »

The temp gauge on my bike reads about 15deg low. I got the front fairing off right now and was wondering if anyone knows how to get this thing calibrated corectly ? Not that it really maters but while im into the thing I thought I would ask.
I moved the sensor to a clean air location under the front fork.
Thanks ,

Dave;
I don't know how or if you can adjust them but mine seems to be reading high. Where was the sensor orininally located?

The sensor is a small white plastic box with a blue wire and a black wire pluged into it.
It was mounted on left radio support just behind the fuel gauge.

One thing I have noticed with the air temp guage is that it reads low if the bike is not running. It seems to be voltage sensitive. I also moved mine down to the area directly above the lower triple clamp cover. I have it zip tied to the brake line next to the brake line junction block. I now noticed that it is much closer to actual temperature.
 I have taken the guage out of the fairing and inspected it. There doesn't appear to be any way to adjust it.

I installed and wired the compass in place of temperature guage. It really works slick. [smiley=laugh.gif]

I never found the gauge in my Ultra to be reliable so I replaced it with an oil temp gauge.  I just got the call the my flhtcse2 is in.  Probably one of the first things I'll do this winter is replace the ambient air temp gauge with an oil gauge.

I doubt I'm the only one who had expressed an interest in that thread that doubts the gauges are actually ever going to show up.  Would've been nice though.  HD is offereing some oil temp gauges though.  Perhaps they'll get around to offering something with the same face as the SEEGs have.
