Fairing Air Deflectors
« on: November 18, 2004, 06:40:45 PM »

I discovered a better deal than Invisishield to keep the air deflectors from scratching the painted inner fairing. Go to Home Depot in the Faucet section and get  6 #00 flat Faucet washers. They are the correct inner diamater for the thumb screws and space the deflectors off the fairing just enough to keep it from being scratched. They are black and blend right in. Cost  $1.30. They are firm enough to not compress and distort when the bolts are tightened. My photo skills suck so bad I am not even going to try and photo to upload. Just try it, you'll like it.

LOL!  At least you're honest!  Thanks for passing along the tip, if not the photos!

Just went down to home depot and asked the guy in plumbing for some 00 faucet washers. $2.47 for 8 and they work great. Thanks for the heads up. [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

Mobe, Yours must be nicer than mine, I got ten in a package and they were $1.29. Glad you could use the tip.
