I'm looking for some items to take with me on the road when touring. Specifically a compact air compressor for tire inflation, and a battery pack for jump starts. If you have those items, please let me know:

Why did you pick it?
Are you satisfied with it?
How long have you had it?
How many times have you used it?
Would you buy it again?

Pardon the many questions, but there are SO MANY on the market to choose from it's difficult to know which are good, and which are not. So, I'd like to hear from folks who have them.

No I don't have one, but I remember seeing his video and thought that would be perfect for a bike

Mark, for cheap and small and something I hope to never use but still seems to last (that's a mouthful) I've got one of these in each bike and in the cage.  Small enough I can keep one in the sissy bar bag on the FXR so bottom of a saddlebag is no big deal.  I keep this little inflator and a tire plug kit in each bike just to get me in if I ever have to.

The little pump is something I've pulled out a couple times a year on each bike just to power up and see if it'll still pump up a tire.  It doesn't do it fast but my youngest one is five years old and they're all still working.  Offered as a cheap option if that's what you might be interested in.

The Airmoto compressor gets excellent reviews and is very compact. Not familiar with the Slime but for something that you will rarely use, why spend more money? On the other hand, for about the same amount of space, have you considered the Stop & Go 1001 28 Piece Tubeless Tire Pocket Plugger Repair Kit & CO2 for Punctures and Flats on Motorcycle?

Which route you go likely depends on what you envision to be your needs.

I have the stop and go plug kit, sans the CO2 cartridges, and the Harley compressor that plugs into the battery tender pigtail.  Used the compressor and plugs on a car tire but never on the bike…hope to never have to.

I used to carry the Co2 cartridge kits.  For years; but ending a long time ago.  Probably not this century.  Would (somewhat) regularly visually inspect the little puncture tool.  The two times I ever needed to use one, however, I was stranded both times.

Once while trying to help another rider about an hour west of Dodge City, KS on US 50 and the tool had apparently gotten wet in a saddle bag (maybe rain gear thrown back in?) or something.  While it mostly looked in tact it was soft and wouldn't puncture the cylinder.  The other guy fortunately had one of the old screw-it-into-spark-plug-hole adapters though. So with my tire plug kit and his one-lung-inflation method he did get going.  The other time I actually attempted to use one was so long ago I don't remember what the deal was.  Do remember that it didn't work and I eventually threw it as far as I possibly could while creating new swear words.  Whatever was the cause it did annoy me.

The little compressors, stored in sealed bags, and somewhat regularly checked have worried me less.

That's the one I went with.  It has a lifetime warranty.  I'm checking out the compact jump starters now.
