I have 8600 miles on mine now.  No mechanical issues.  A few electronic gremlins with the head unit, HD has done a couple updates that improve it.  Still bugs with the CarPlay integration.  Music doesn't mute for text read back, phone calls or Nav Prompts.

Overall very happy with the bike.

Hey FLSTI Dave!

I just bought a new Whiskey Neat ‘23 over the weekend.  So far, really impressed with the power and handling. I think I’m gonna love it. Two things I need to address that you’ve pointed out already:

1) The stock windscreen looks cool, but is useless as far as a “windscreen”
At 6’4”, do you think the 10” would suffice, or should I go with the 12”?
There’s been mention they are “very different in shape”…

2) The seat’s gonna need a timer backrest.
The dealer Parts Guru sold me the adjustable bracket & “CVO” backrest, but I don’t think
they’re gonna work on the CVO two-piece seat.
How are you liking the one you got from Bad Boyz?
     Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks!

I wouldn't bother with the HD windshield unless they're giving you one for free. I have the 10" laying in the garage collecting dust after buying a Freedom Shield for mine. Nobody had windshields out when I got my bike and the stock one is useless. Check out Freedom Shields for one for you. I'm 5'11" and run their 11" and it's perfect for me. You'll want taller. You can order one and swap it out for another if you need a different height as long as you don't take the protective film off of it.

hey Bubba congrats is the new ride an RG? if so at 6'2" 31 inseam I went with the Klockwork and finally settled on the middle size light tint and it works great. Dont buy the dark one, I tried and you cant see thru it when its dark. Dangerous. The tall version may be perfect but for me I was look right thru the recurve which was kind of spooky, but would think good for you. They will let you exchange for a small restocking charge. I just saw where they are offering  a color version which may be an option as well. I found some local guys here in Nc that build Iron butt seats and they moved me back about 1 1/2" and changed the foam up and recovered it (Mean City cycles) great work and not a bad price. found a Christian guys in Ohio I think that built me a back rest that works great and is removable if you need the space for a rider. I also have a corbin two up that has been reworked 2" back and recovered and gel I might sell. no backrest. Last I highly recommend replacing the brake pedal which is a disaster, terrible position, too high and your foot will stick under it. Go to Soft brake and buy his version. its longer and lower and its offset 1/2" to get you away from the breather that helps with the knee. I also changer the breather and the slipones. And that helped. PM me if you needs more details.

I'm interested in where you got the backrest for the new seat.

Thanks for the quick replies, OBB and Big Lew!

Yes, CVO Road Glide. Due to the nasty business of work, just rolled over the first 100 miles :-)

I test rode both the CVO RG & SG (dealer has both leftover ‘23 in Whiskey Neat &
Dark Platinum - as well as an Anniversary’ 23 Road Glide Limited in Heirloom Fade), and
while the SG felt more like my former Ultra due to the Batwing, I really liked (1) how much
more room the RG felt and well as (2) the much taller stock handlebar position of the RG.
I  had never even ridden a RG before - it’s definitely a different perspective from the seat.

Thanks to your suggestions, I’ll review the Clockworks and Freedom screens.
As for the seat, I’ll keep searching - I may put some miles on and figure out if I’m going
with a completely different seat. I had a comfortable Mustang on the Ultra that moved me
back a bit, but it wasn’t really “stylish “

If I can add to the story. Make sure you've adjusted the rear shocks. Seems like these bikes are coming from the factory with no preload on the right side shock. Took some fiddling around to find my sweet spot but it's pretty much dead on now.

I’ve read through the OIB, flagged those pages on adjusting the rear shocks, and plan to work on that this weekend. Thanks for the heads up!

Sorry a late reply but was riding Ohio for a few days.

The Harley 10" shield was to short for me over 60 mph.  The 12" is a tad bit to tall but works great.  That said I'll probably get a Freedom shield.  I like the look of the Klock Werks better.  But if I get the wrong size I cant return it.  Freedom shield is a hassle free return for another size.

I have the Bad Boyz Cyclez back rest and like it.  I'm going to send my seat to them to have them add some gel to it.  Seat is miserable after a few hours.

Congratulations on the  new bike.  I have about 12,500 miles on mine and love it.

Put 635 miles on the new ride on Saturday during the “2024 Fanny 500”.
I was amazed at the 52.5 mpg over the 600+ mile day.
And, this scooter really wants to run.

I thought the throttle was a little “jumpy”, a little movement makes her jump.

Stock seat and no backrest was “long day”, but not as bad as I had feared.
The local dealer sold me a HD adjustable backrest mounting kit and backrest,
but after getting the (two piece seat) off and looking at the setup, there’s no way
it will work with the CVO two piece seat (and looking at the HD description, HD’s
clearly stated it’s for “the one piece seat) - so I’ll have to drop back and punt.

The stock windscreen, however, was proven to be absolutely useless.
Of course, my new Klock Werks (13.5” Pro Touring - 11.0” actual height) arrived
while I was out on the ride… I installed it yesterday, but haven’t had a chance to road test it yet.
It LOOKS like it will be a big upgrade - I’ll follow up after I give it a try. 😎

Check to make sure your ride mode isn't set to Sport. It tightens up the throttle response. It's fun once you get used to it but people have a tendency to be a little more cautious on a brand new bike.
