I have a 2020 CVO RG with the Boom Audio Stage 2 system.  I've just blown my second saddlebag speaker in 6 months so I've been researching aftermarket options.  While the dealer will give me a 1-year warranty and replace the current damaged speaker (and will check the flash), here's what I found and what I plan to do if this becomes persistent and/or I run out of warranty support:

1.  The RF TMS57 is NOT compatible with the Boom 2.  I called the RF tech and he told me absolutely not regardless of what some sites (Crutchfield) advertise.  He DID direct me to an actual drop in bi-amp replacement...
2.  The Cicada CXX57.2 is a direct replacement.  I called their tecch and asked about the bi-amp and Boom 2 compatibility.  Not only is it compatible but has the HD connections for a true drop-in replacement.

I post this here as many don't want to rip out the Boom 2 and go all in with another system (like me).  Note: I have not checked the veracity nor quality of the product but put this out there for anyone wanting an option on their OEM Boom 2 system.  If you do go this route, I'd be interested to know your experience and thoughts.

I blew my first 5x7 this spring, got 6 years out of them. I went the cicada route. I am friends with someone that does motorcycle audio. He installed them this past June and they are a massive improvement over the boom 2 5x7. I kept the boom amp and I cannot believe how much louder they are over the stock ones. The basket does need to be trimmed to fit the bigger magnet but doesn’t hang down like a 6x9.

Nice.  Blew my first one after a year on a ride from DC to Austin so I replaced them with Boom 2 that had a new part number.  I assumed they fixed whatever issue they were having but the second pair didn't last a 6 months as I blew that one out at Myrtle Beach Bike Week.  The dealer will replace it under HD warranty and check out my HU but if the sound from the Cicadas is much better, maybe I'll change 'em out before these new Boom's go T.U.

Curious as to how these will work with them only taking one channel out of the two channels the B2 system pushes to each speaker location. Are they only using 75 out of the 150 watts available to each spot?

I don’t know if they make replacements for the front speakers. The rear speakers use the factory 2 plug connections. I am by no means an audiophile, I just didn’t wanna spend the money to replace the entire system and these worked out as a great alternative for me. Plus I sometimes over pack my bags and didn’t want to have a 6x9 speaker sitting that far in since would need to add an adapter to make it fit.

Having invested in the 6 speaker, 3 Amp upgrade (speakers in the lowers on my 17') Boom set up awhile back, and on my 2nd set of rear speakers these Cicada's seem like a nice little upgrade. I was hopping some one was gonna come up with something like this. I think I'm gonna have to try a set of these...will post a review...

I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the Cxx57.2.  When I talked to them about it they warned me I would want to upgrade the fairing speakers as well.  If you do that, you will need a new amp setup.  For now, the saddlebag speakers from Cicada can be run in a single OR bi-amp configuration.  Boom 2 uses a bi-amp 2ohm speaker so these should be a simple remove and replace.  I understand the new saddlebag speakers are deeper due to a better magnet so that will require "trimming," but I don't know how much yet.  I'll post some pics.

I have a soundz system and noticed I had a few speakers buzzing front and rear. I went with cicada 5x7-4a in the bags and hertz sx 165 neo in the fairing. Left the soundz amp and it's been amazing. Really good stuff. I went with these mostly because I didn't want to modify the bags and do a major cutting job.. I was thinking about 6x9s. But these worked out fine for me. Stuart.

Thank you to everyone for the posts! I bought the Cicada CXX57.2 5x7 pair and installed them earlier this week. I made a super quick video just so I could make it available to anyone who might find it useful. The speakers really are "bolt for bolt - hole for hole" drop in, but you do have to remove the "Cage/Mesh" below it to accommodate the larger magnet. It still does not protrude into the bag like a 6x9, but a little more than the Boom II 5x7. The Boom II connectors plug right in to the Cicada Audio speakers.

I'll be dammed. Someone finally made a bi-amped speaker that's a drop in replacement. Kudos to Cicada. Has to sound better than stock.

Thanks for all the great info in this thread ~ I just installed the Cicada CXX57.2's in my '18 Road Glide and I couldn't be happier... What an improvement over the Boom II's in every aspect. Install was easier than expected and everything lined up perfectly...  Thanks especially for the short video on the cage removal ~ That went smoother than anticipated!!
