CVO specific stock speaker replacements?
« on: July 13, 2024, 12:40:50 AM »

So I've been searching until I can't see straight.  I want to replace my stock speakers.  One of them is blown and I can see another one where the surround is split but it's still working.  Everything I find that says it's good for a Road Glide doesn't mention if it's good for a CVO.  Maybe I'm over thinking it and none of it matters.  I found one or two places where someone mentions the CVO's have 1 ohm speakers.  But is this true?  And the closest I can find are 2 ohm speakers.  Has anyone had any luck just replacing their stock speakers with some 2 ohm speakers?  There's, what appears to be, a 5x7 in the front fairing with a tweeter and a 2" speaker(mid?) next to them.  I'm thinking if I can replace the 5x7 with a good 2 way speaker I can delete the 2" speaker for an oil temp gauge and something else.  Maybe just an ambient temp gauge.  But that's another discussion.  Will the amps care if I delete the 2" speaker?  And the saddlebags seem to have 5x7 2 way speakers.  1 ohm again?  Or can I run a 2 ohm speaker.  Surely this has all been worked out?  I mean it's been 11 years lol.  I just can't seem to find good clear info on 'I did this with my 13 RG CVO speakers' without spending thousands of dollars on a complete system.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

Find some used aftermarket stuff and install it. I believe RoadHouse has some Soundz equipment He up graded for sale pretty damn cheap. I think He's on here, if not, He's on the Roadglide forum and Facebook.

Thanks for the heads up.  I found his listing.  It came out of a 2018 CVO RG.  2 extra speakers I wouldn't need and I'm assuming the mounting brackets and/or wiring kit would be different?  But if it fit a 2013 it would be a good deal even with the 2 extra lower fairing speakers.

I bought stock, OEM speakers for my 2013 CVO Ultra Classic on ebay about a year ago.  Have you checked out ebay?

I've got a set of Soundz brand speakers and amp I pulled out of my 18 CVO RG for an update. They are for sale on here................4-6.5 Iron series, 2-5x7 Iron series and a 400 watt amp, plus the DSP if you want it.

I can seperate if intersted. Buy it all or what you need. I had 6.5's in my 09 CVO RG, upper fairing and lowers, so I know it will fit yours.

I don't find anything on ebay right now.  I've only started looking.  I'll keep checking.

I had 6.5 focals upfront and 5x7 2 way in the saddlebags on this 2013 cvo. Had to change the amp to support the 4 ohm speakers. I believe the stock ones were 2 ohm.

I called Volunteer Audio, he said the 2013 CVO's are an odd one.  They have 1 ohm speakers so it's a complete replacement if you want it to work right.  So its still on the list of things I want, just moved down a bit due to cost, oh well.
