I'm 65 and I've been riding since I was 15, but never had a Harley. ($$$) I started with a Sears (that's right, they used to sell motorcycles [Binelli 105]). Next I had a small Suzuki, then a Yamaha, then 3 Hondas; all spread out over the last 50 years. I haven't always had a motor bike, but it's always been my favorite method of travel. My last Honda (still have) is an 02 VTX1800C. It took a few months and a couple thousand dollars to eradicate the "Japanese look", but she never missed a beat, and always outperformed... until she didn't. (long, sad story) I've now been a straight cager for the last 5 years and I just couldn't stand it any longer. So I did it, I'm now the proud owner of 08 Screamin Eagle Softail Springer. Once again I find myself needing to customize, this time for rideability. The thing is, I'm 5' 6", with a 30" inseem, and this thing seems like it was built for someone 6' tall. I just can't get that feel of syncing with my bike. In my way of thinking, a man should be one with his bike, totally dialed in and functioning as a single entity. I'm going to start with a custom Corbin seat with extra padding in the back to move me 3" closer the to gas tank. That should help quite a bit, but if anyone has any other workable ideas, I
would sure appreciate hearing from you. So hi there, and how are ya doin? I'm Richard.
