It’s the suspension, swing arm, retuning and weight reduction. Now is it worth $110k is a different topic. But some of the stuff will no doubt trickle down into future road glide models.
When I hear this it makes me wonder if HD is using this bike as a "test platform".
I'm probably wrong, but this bike is advertised as designed for the track to compete with Indian in the Bagger Races. That means this bike is tuned for a surface that is forgiving, smooth, and clean and under these conditions fares pretty well. But most of us don't ride on a track, we ride on the street. How will this bike fare in a curve on a hot summer day hitting a tar snake, or over rutted roads buckled by tree roots? We are all familiar with the motorcop test video getting the patented HD Wobble, or that guy getting a tank slapper. And though this new engine cranks out good numbers, what's it like in longevity? Will it be a solid 103, or a questionable 110?
I'm going to say this like I say about every new HD. Until 85% of them can go 90k with no engine work, cams, lifters, tensioners, base gaskets, head gaskets, scissoring cranks running on just gas, tires and oil I'll hold onto my money for now.
But it is a beautiful looking bike.
