IgoFar or anyone help on this one?

I have reinhart true duals but some here are contemplating true dual headers on stock pipes,,, Will it work?

In the interest of pure science, I just took my stock pipes off the shelf and yelled in the inlet end of both of them. I sounded just as stupid yelling in the left one as I did yelling in the right one.

Last time I yelled down an RK's left pipe it took about 80% of my strength to do it so when it came to the right I only had about 20% left !

The pipes for the non CVO baggers are different from left to right, but the CVO mufflers are the same.

I wished I had thought of that.

I took my stock pipes out of their box and listened to each one.  At first they sounded similar and then I thought I heard the ocean in the right one but am not sure - may need to yell into them and see if any salt comes out the other end.

All joking aside. The left pipe on my 2007 SERK 110" is (was) way more restrictive than the right. Not even in the same ballpark.

What makes you say that? I mean how could you tell?

This is the same thing I was told on the 110 Stage I kit pipes which they list as CVO not Screamin Eagle. As anyone noticed where they put the rear o2 sensor on the 07 models? It is on the right side of the Y pipe because more exhaust exits on the right side.

On my 2007 SERK and in the parts catalog, the left and right mufflers (US Catalytic) are different with different part numbers.

Here's my thoughts on the 70/ 30 exhaust unbalance.  If there were no crossovers then each side would have 50%.  If one side were to connect to the other with a Y configuration, and half of the rear cylindrer exhaust went left and half went right,  then one side would be about 25% and the other 50+25 or 75%.

Does that theory hold water?   :nixweiss:

Also, if the mufflers have indentations on the inboard side for the axle nut and the mounting bracket is always on top, there would have to be a left and right muffler.
