S&S vs Fuel Moto Crate Motor
« on: March 05, 2025, 08:48:20 PM »

I have a 2012 FLHTCUSE7 that I am getting ready to put a crate motor on. I am looking at doing either the S&S TC124 or the Fuel Moto Outlaw 124. Just looking for opinions or personal experiences. Also I can seem to find it on the Fuel Moto website if they offer theirs in the stone gray?

Some things to think about…….
Are you doing the work? Or having a shop help out?
I would assume this is a “touring bike”?

I’ve used both companies in the past, S&S going back to 1978, FM most recently, both companies are very easy to work with. My current M8 build has parts from both companies and going on 80K miles with no issues and just replacing some wear parts.

I suggest you call FM AND S&S and ask those questions with them.
There are also many shops that specialize in what you propose, a call to them would probably be helpful.

Have never dealt with S&S but have dealt with fuel moto. Fuel moto customer service is outstanding, answered the phone every time I have called and never rushed me off the phone. I believe the fuel moto 124 only comes in black.

I would look to a independent shop that builds your engine with the best parts, machine work, and proper tune.

I have had a 124 HC in my 12 Roadglide for 55K miles with zero issues..
