Odd pattern on cylinder wall.
« on: March 14, 2025, 09:21:27 PM »

Tore the motor down in the 08 Roadglide and found this odd wear patter.  This was a factory 103 kit installed when the bike had 600 miles on it, a little over 75k on it now.  Any idea what would cause this?

Excessive heat likely from a lean mixture and high ambient temperatures

Thanks for the reply.  SW Florida definitely has high temps and the bike was using the old Screamin Eagle tuner with a pre-programed map.  Going to 107 and a new tuner so I should be able to fatten it up a bit.

Look to Facebook. There are a lot of good tuners in Florida. Let the tuner break it in. Just start the motor first at a high idle to check for leaks and noises.

I have rode three bike down to have him tune.  He does really good work.  A friend has done the same.  We finally got a good tuner near us a few years ago.

Only three hours away.  I will definitely touch base with him as I get near completion.  Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, yes and yes about Doc's. Go see Corey. Minneola is about 4 hours north of me and oh well worth the time. He is also an authorized extended warranty dealer.

I had my local dealer install the Cycle Rama 512 cam and TTS mastertune to my existing 2021 Streetglide with a 131 ci. I was a little let down from my seat of the pants dyno. So I reached out to TTS and they suggested Doc's. Corey lit my bike up. It was night and day from what the dealer had done. Good luck.
