110 to 117 kit installing soon cam question
« on: June 07, 2025, 02:33:43 PM »

New CVO 110 owner here wanted to make the bike "mine" by changing to the 117
2016 cvo street glide
It already has:
S&S camplate
S&S oil pump
S&S push rods
Zipper performance lifters
Woods 777 cam

my question is the 117 kit I believe comes with new push rods, lifters and 259e cam.  Should I change ALL the parts in the kit or should I keep anything that has already been installed,  I have about a week before my appointment to get the work done.

basiccally I know very little, i am trying to learn anything posted below is what comes in kit, should i install the kit in full or keep anything already listed above?

The Harley route to 117 is exspensive, you can get much better value for money by going the S&S or Revolution Peformance kit route.

You might give a call to suburban Harley speed shop and ask them the same question.
They are very knowledgeable on putting together all the right parts. Quality cylinder and piston sets.

I bought most of my 124 parts from them and 70K miles later still running strong!
May be wise to address the heads also especially on a 110 engine.

Whoever is doing your work would be the best bet for a good combination to achieve your goals.

Of course boring the cases is preferred and now you have spigot thickness for endurance. The 117" bolt on kit has .029" spigots per side.  :-X
When the cases are bored they can be surfaced and the flywheels sent off to be properly prepared to last and run true.
Mike is right, the heads need servicing for longevity, at a bare minimum.
