Hey Y'all,
I do not actually have a CVO model, but I created one.
I have an '06 Street Glide and needed a new motor, but ended up buying an '04 CVO 103" and corresponding transmission with SE 6 speed in it. Unfortunately, got it all done and couldn't get it to run. :'( Ultimately took it to a very good local independent shop and they are trying to figure it out. Turns over. but won't run. I am confident the motor is fine, just something is wrong. I bought the corresponding ecu from the `04 and it wouldn't work.
Now, I am told I need a key fob because the security system is locked... they put the '06 ecu back in, still not working. I never got a key fob with the bike, I bought it used four years ago... very challenging situation. I did all the work up to taking it to the shop earlier this week after the issues got beyond my skill set. I have ridden and raced motorcycles since I was around 13 (1977). I am baffled. I'm just a garage rat though and not a mechanic, just and r&r man with a lot of tools.
Anyway, it should all work out.
I think I will get a much newer bike next time around.

Update- "That very good independent shop"wasn't very good after all. I had to rent a trailer again, pick it up and bring home it again. I bought a Custom Dynamic TSM to eliminate the security system issue and picked up a used ecm/esu from a 2006 CVO Electra Glide. The tsm and esu had to be married by someone who uses a Techno Research Centurion.
Found a great old school shop, North of me up in Canton, GA. Hartman T/F cycles. After marrying the ecu and tsm, he called me and said it still would not start, if only momentarily. He ultimately found a burnt wire in the harness under the gas tank and a bad ground. He dyno-tuned it and it made about 95hp, and about 95 ft lbs of torque! Not a bad upgrade! It has aftermarket headers, and Tab slip ons. I have the Zombie baffles, but they were too dang loud, installed the medium baffles, which are getting louder, ha ha!
I installed a new primary chain and a Hayden automatic chain tensioner, plus a new drive belt when I installed the trans and motor.
Anyway, to sum it up, it's runs like a raped ape. Boy, I sure missed riding. Glad we still have a couple months of nice riding left here.
Thanks for listening.
