feuling 525 cam chest kit in 2009 CVO 110se ultra
« on: August 13, 2025, 09:36:12 PM »

I know this has been beaten to death, but I am rebuilding my engine currently, and am installing the feuling 525 kit. This was recommended by 2 different shops up here, and am having some doubts on whether or not to do the 574 kit instead. I want the torque on the lower end of the RPM range, and dont want to change compression or springs. I also want to keep my reliability. Am I going to see any improvement over the stock 255SE cams or is this thing just going to be coming apart in a month to put in a more aggressive cam.

TIA

If you are not changing anything else you may lose some bottom end torque.
Look at torque curves at Feuling's website.
525 designed for 103 engine and 574 for 110 but 574 torque comes on later.
If truly not changing anything else, you may want to consider a different cam.
Go to one of the websites that calculates corrected engine compression to compare cams.
Intake closing is 25 degrees ABDC, 525 is 42, and 574 is 61.

If your staying with 110 ci the 255 cant be beat. Grunt king in my opinion. when I installed redshift 587 cams in my cvo I quickly realized how good the bottom end torque was on the 255. Very disappointed. I was great when I went 117 though. haha
