Wireless Headset - Won’t Pair with SkylineOS
« on: January 08, 2026, 09:46:37 PM »

Just recently, my (OEM Harley-Davidson 50S Bluetooth Headset, 76001178/A 76001179/A)
Will not “pair” to the motorcycle (WHIM). It worked OK one day, wouldn’t the next. I “deleted” the headset from the paired devices list (which I’ve had to do then reinstall/pair a couple times previously) - and now bike “can’t find” the headset now.

The HD instruction sheet (document 94100310) is, truthfully, not of much assistance.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any advice, Bubba

Well, with help of Google, I have been able to solve the issue.
It would have been helpful if The Motor Company had updated the instruction page (2022-06)
when they opted to ship the 50S kit with the new Road Glide CVO - the instructions are for the BoomBox GTS and/or GT (not the SkyLineOS models).  Further, the instructions sheet does not include anything about setting the 50S to “pairing mode”.

Seems (1) you need to go to “pair” from the headset in “off”, and (2) you have to hold the “phone” and “jog dial” buttons for closer to eight seconds until the LED light flashes alternately red/blue.

I was starting with the 50S unit “on”, and didn’t hold the buttons long enough.

It’s heck to  (1) get old and (2) assume the instructions would be clear enough for me!

I'm glad you got it.  I can't remember how I paired mine 2.5 years ago.

Yeah, I imagine I did it this way a year and a half ago and forgot.
It’s frustrating the instructions are so vague in the HD documentation. 🤪
