Hey everyone,
As many of us are finding out, the new Skyline OS on the '24+ CVOs is a massive leap forward, but it can be a bit finicky when you want to go beyond the factory CarPlay or add Android Auto.
Whether you’re trying to run the Dyno Jet PV 4 app, Waze, or other high-end GPS apps through an Ottocast P3 or P3 Pro, there are specific tricks to getting these units to play nice with the Harley’s new architecture—especially when it comes to the dreaded "reboot on engine start" issue.
I’ve started a dedicated Facebook group specifically for Ottocast P3 users on the Skyline OS. We’re focused on:
The "Power Bridge" Fix: How to use a Y-cable and mini-battery (like the Anker Nano) to keep your unit alive during fuel stops.
Screen Scaling: Getting the most out of that beautiful 12.3" display without stretching the image.
Firmware & APKs: Sharing which versions are the most stable for our bikes.
If you’re running an AI box or thinking about getting one for your new CVO, come join the conversation. No ego, just riders helping riders get the most out of their tech.

I have been researching this for awhile as I used AA on my GTS radio, mainly for Google maps and streaming music. I was leaning towards the ONINCE box after reading and watching this guy on Youtube. He's been very informative.

I joined your group on FB

I've been playing with mine. Have it in the house using a Bluetooth keyboard and hdmi cable to an external monitor. Too scrappy weather to ride. It is a fully functional Android. And hit a button and it just becomes a pass through AA like a dongle.
Im just using it on a GTS.

Gotcha, thought you were using it on the new Skyline system. I just plugged my Android phone in the cubby and had wired AA, kept it charged on a Quadlock wireless charger. I never had a problem with AA on my GTS.

Agree. But when I move to a skyline equipped bike I'm gonna want my AA.

How is this a "leap forward"?
It's just another half-assed attempt that Harley is famous for, especially when it comes to audio.

I like the new Skylline OS, but it has bugs.  Most things are an improvement, but some are not.  NAV is missing some good features,  you can find Hotels ahead along your route however you can no longer call the hotel once you find it.  You can not preview the route to see how it is taking you.  Audio is slightly better, but not a big improvement.

I agree, Dave. There are some nice features in SkylineOS, and there remains a few “bugs” where improvements can be implemented.

It’s difficult for me to fathom why, when developing a new system, the engineering team eliminates some previously-enjoyed features. The same can be said for the “new & improved” handlebar controls layout & switches - for me, I was pretty happy with the handlebar control layout on my 2017 - and at 10k miles on the new one, I’m still having to adjust (and look at the controls) or even take my hand off the grip to operate the the new layout.

I have finally got to where I really like the new switch layout.  Could be my Pan America Special layout is almost the same.  I hate they dropped XM and you can't even added it.  Yes I know it can be streamed from my phone.  Works great on the interstate, however in the hills of east TN you loose signal way to much.

Yeah, streaming SiriusXM here in the mountains of Colorado is pretty hit-or-miss, too!
We lose signal pretty quickly, and frequently, while riding anywhere west of the house.

Amazon Prime Music let's you download Playlist music and will play when Signal drops.
Setting up your Amazon Music to work deep in the woods (or just a bad reception zone) involves a two-step dance: downloading the right content and then telling the app to actually look at those files instead of hunting for a signal.
Since you're on a Prime account, remember that you are limited to downloading All-Access Playlists specifically. Individual songs outside of these curated lists generally can't be downloaded unless you upgrade to Unlimited.
1. Download Your Playlists
Find All-Access Playlists: Open the app and look for playlists with the "All-Access" badge (usually a blue or gold rectangular tag). You can find these on your Home screen or by searching "All-Access."
Trigger the Download: Tap the three dots (⋮) next to the playlist name or look for the downward arrow icon. Select Download.
Verify: Once finished, a small checkmark or "downloaded" icon should appear next to the playlist.
2. Configure for Offline Play
This is the part most people miss. If the app tries to "check-in" with Amazon's servers before playing, it will hang if you have no signal.
Enable "Offline Mode":
iOS: Tap the Gear icon (Settings) in the top right and toggle Offline Mode to ON.
Android: Go to your Library and tap the Downloaded tab/filter at the top.
Set "Play Downloads First": In the app Settings, look for an option called "Play downloads first." Turning this on ensures the app uses the local file on your phone even if you have a tiny bit of weak signal, which saves data and prevents buffering.
3. Quick Pro-Tips
Auto-Download: In your Settings, you can toggle "Auto-download All-Access Playlists" so that your favorite curated lists are always ready for you without manual effort.
The 15-50 Rule: You can actually make one of your own created playlists (between 15 and 50 songs) an "All-Access" playlist, which allows you to download your personal picks for offline use.

That is good to know you can do that with Amazon.  I have several play lists on my iPhone for when I do not have consistent signal or a good FM station.
