Well my goodness what a difference a year makes. It appears so far that the Vance & Hines/Indian Race team have found the special sauce. And are whipping some serious ass.
Indian took first and second place in both races at Daytona. Then Indian took first and second place in race 1 at Road Atlanta (Harley took thrid). Then Indian swept the podium in Race 2. Wow, clearly Indian is on a roll. I have read that Terry Vance of Vance & Hines took over the Indian race team and re-designed a completely new bike from the ground up. Well what ever Indian has done it is working spectacularly.

Harley better go back to the drawing board quickly.

It’s interesting, Indian uses their 112 motor while Harley uses their 131 motor. Indian is permitted a 7700 rpm limit vs 7000 rpm for Harley due to displacement size. Hence Indians produce more high rpm HP while Harley’s produce more low end torque. In tracks like Daytona with long sweepers and high banks, Indians have faster top end speed that helped them win these races.

That's kinda fascinating about the rpm limits. This year I saw Indian have a substantially faster bike than last year at Daytona. I saw several times that Kyle Wyman couldn't catch Indian. Where as last year, 2025 Kyle Wyman was able to catch up to or keep his lead from, Indian. Saw the same at the Road Atlanta course. Also I think Indian had all 3 pole positions for both races in Atlanta. Like I said Indian has clearly made some substantial adjustments for the better.

And surprisingly I thought Harley would have done something different in Atlanta after getting beat down at Daytona. So far it's shaping up to be a long un-productive year for Harley on the race track.

An excellent point. When V&H was teamed up with Harley for drag racing they had a strong as hell team.
