Hoist,
While not a solution for the hub, as a clutch option you may want to consider the AIM "Tamachi" High Performance inner clutch assembly - http://www.aim-tamachi.com/motorcycle/products.html?tamachi_inner_kit - I installed one based on Zipper's recommendation for my '07 120" build and it works great.  I was initially leanining towards the Rivera Pro clutch, which I had used successfully on previous 120 builds, but they had not yet released the new version (PN 1056-0020) for the '07 clutch basket/hub. I see that it has now been released.

I still don't know whether Rivera has a product out for the '07 or if the older versions will work.

Thanks hdfr. The ring gear seems to be the weak link here. That means a different clutch hub. Check this clutch out. It looks really slick. http://www.bakerdrivetrain.com/dialup/KKK/index.html I now have to figure out how, and what parts to use, to set up the correct gears for the compensating sprocket and the pinion gear and primary chain. If the starter jackshaft pinion gear is built into the new starters, then clutch hub/ring gear options might be limited. I'm going to see what Baker has to offer, and what they know about the '07 setups. Most of the other performance clutch assemblies use the stock clutch hubs. That's the part that has me looking to change everything. So a new clutch alone will not solve this problem. I wasn't particularly looking for a new clutch, with only 500 miles and a stock motor. Like I said, this really sucks!!! Hoist! 8)

I agree that it sucks.  I haven't experienced any startup problems and wonder if that is attributable to the T-Max, my manual CR vs your ACR, luck, or a combination of all three. I'll have to watch closely for any indicators of a problem.

Good luck with Baker and I hope you are riding the SERK again soon.

Well, I just got off the phone with Nate from Baker Drivetrain. He confirmed that nothing for the '07's is compatible with earlier years inside the primary. The starter, clutch shell, compensating sprocket, clutch sprocket, gear ratios, you name it, it's different! There is no one that makes a complete clutch assembly, including the clutch shell, for the '07! We are left to fend for ourselves and hope HD can fix this issue. F'ing wonderful! Also, he claims this new 6-speed tranny is a POS!!! So wait awhile, the problems with these will start surfacing soon. The dealer still has no idea when their expecting my new clutch shell. So my bike sits in pieces waiting for HD to figure out how to build a replacement part that doesn't self-destruct! They should have never got rid of the Kicker! It's come in handy many times on my '85! ;) Hoist! 8)

Hoist,

It is disheartening to hear that.   I did find out the gearing is Primary 34 / 46 ~ Belt drive 32 / 66 on the 07's and 25/36 ~ 32/70 we knew previous to the 07's.   Did Nate happen to let on that they might be delivering a product for the 07's in any type of time frame?

Just curious,

Yes Harry, very disheartening! Baker has no plans at this time for the '07's. You can not change gearing at all, as there are no gear choices for '07's. The only change Baker has, is regearing on the secondary side, trans and rear wheel pulley changeouts. The only thing you can change inside is the clutch itself. That doesn't help me at all!

So we are now left with only the factory to take care of this. I spoke with Milwaulkee today. They took the Company line. They know of no "issue" with the starter ring gears. But off the record, he knows they have heat treatment issues with them. He's going to check into it and contact me with an answer. Yeah, I got a better chance of seeing God than hearing back from them!

Back to waiting for the dealer's help. That's got me feeling all warm inside! ::)

Hoist,

Howie you may just want to rethink breaking that warranty hehe ... we could have 1200 more posts about how your waivering on that line.  Hopefully they will get it resolved quickly and this is nothing more than a speed bump for a while the aftermarket tools up with products.

That's all I can do is wait, Harry. I need to leave it alone in there right now until those parts become common. Right now, I guess I do need some of the W.....ty! Revised: FSOTW!!! ;) Hoist! 8)      (SO-Some Of)

It's been almost 2 weeks. I called the dealer and was planning on threatening them with the NYS Lemon Law. They have 30 days to repair a new vehicle under w.....ty. If not, the customer is entitled to a full refund if that's the direction I want to take it. I was surprised to hear that they might be making some progress. With no definitive info, I'm not convinced yet that they have a handle on this. But I'll remain optimistic. I held back any threats for now, and will see what they say by the end of the day. With any luck, they'll get the part this week! There hasn't exactly been any luck these days for my bikes. It's time for my luck to change, don't you think? Hoist! 8)

Well, well, well! Guess what? HD overnighted an entire new clutch assembly out and my dealer received it today!!! :jalapeno: That deserves a freaking dancing hot dog! They're buttoning it up right now and I should have it back tomorrow. He said that the ring gear looks identical to the original. I hope this one doesn't break too. It will now have a chrome starter and inner primary. The bike should look cool. I'll put a few hundred on it and put my good fluids in. I had to put the Syn3 in cause I wasn't giving them any excuses not to w.....ty this clutch. I'll let you guys know how it feels. And put a few new pics of it up. Finally, some good news! Might look the same, Hoist, but hopefully they have a better process on the ring gear now so you'll be good to go for years. :2vrolijk_21:
