Very interesting and thanks.  The closest offender to my home here in FL was convicted in NY and now lives in a very exclusive (expensive) waterfront gated community right down the road.  Just in case anybody has any stereotypes about criminals and income level/societal status.

I was more than a little mortified to see how many live within 2 miles of me, and I also live out in the country.  And some live less than 1000 feet of schools, within a couple of miles of me and I thought that was illegal.  Now I am going to feel real bad when I go to my local business and look into the eye of one of these sickos.  Euuueee yuck!

Man who murdered sex offenders dies in prison

ABERDEEN, Wash. -- The Department of Corrections says it's still investigating the death of an inmate April 15th at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center near Aberdeen.

The 36-year-old Mullen had been sentenced to 44 years in prison last year for killing two registered sex offenders in Bellingham. Mullen found his victims on Whatcom County's online sex offender list. He posed as an F-B-I agent in August of 2005 to enter the home and shoot the men.

The prison says Michael Mullen was found unresponsive in his cell and was declared dead at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

Prison spokeswoman Sheri Izatt says Mullen was alone in his cell, and it's being investigated as an unnatural death, which includes the possibility of suicide.
