One can only hope Twolane as I've never thought of myself that way......I was always the obstreperous one.  Funny how things change as we get older.

You've been a busy man of late..........my hats off to you!!!!   If only we all had friends like you...........victory w/o violence, novel idea!  Take care........... [smiley=znotworthy.gif]

The most simple way I know to check neck torque is to check the fall away.  If you are going to do it yourself, remember to take off the front calipers for true balance.

Check the tire pressures, check your steering head bearings and tighten if necessary, swing arm bushing or bearings wore out?  [smiley=confused5.gif]  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  [smiley=oops.gif]

UPDATE #2  It appears things have changed.   The first tech. has passed the ball to tech. #2.  The first one we'll call "MH" was top shelf and took a real interest in what I'm experiencing, he'll be missed!!  #2 we'll call "RS"  is equally knowledgeable as #1 and really trying to get some answers and resolve this problem, but I sense he's getting some flack from above or lack of coperation from others?   So..........still no real news other than an aborted attempt to meet w/ a traveling "Field Service Rep."   And "if you didn't buy it here, why would you bring it here"??

So I suspect I'll take the bike back to the dealer of origion and take my chances.......

My only complaint.............at 54: why do I have to explain to anyone why I want to go "that" fast...........105 is not fast and the legality of it has NOTHING to do w/ it!!

I'll post when I have more info. thanks again for all the help!!!!!!!!!!!

Wobble fixed!  I picked my bike up today after the local HD dealer worked their magic.  It appears the the neck bearings were not adjusted properly (too loose).  This is an adjustment that is suppose to be checked on major services.  The service writer told me that it was obivous that this adjustment wasn't made on my 7500 mile maintenance.

I took the bike thru some long sweeping turns at 80+ and it felt MUCH better!  A lot more stable.

Don't know if this will fix everones wooble, but, it worked for me!

Been reading this thread with great interest!  I'm sadly not a CVO Owner myself (though if they produce the SEEG3 based on an Ultra, I will be!) - I have a 100th FLHTCUI, and a '01 Sporty, both since new.   I've ridden a lot of Glides, and there sure is a LITTLE bit of a wobble problem.  My own current one was fine when new, but after I replaced the rear tyre (with a Continental - the standard Dunlops are not good in our climate!!!!) I got the high speed "wallowing" wobble on sweeping bends.  Not nice, but liveable with. Friends have the same experience. I'd been putting it down to the Continental on the back, with the Dunlop still on the front (I know, I know!) and thought that it might be resolved once the front Dunlop wore out, and I could replace it with a Continental too. Certainly tyre pressure or suspension pressure variations don't make a lot of difference to it.

But recently I got the chance to ride a brand new SEEG2 (600 miles when I rode it) that a friend bought.  Man does it go! :-)  I really want that torque and power!  Two problems with it though 1) FAR too low!  Tight curves at any speed are a reall no-no - dig big furrows in the tar with the jiffy stand and to the extent that I could not get it on a big enough lean for our twisty little roads. That one would be easy enough (though expensive!) to cure though. 2) Wobble.  JEEZ DOES THAT BIKE WOBBLE!  As I say, I've ridden a fair few Glides, and most, including my own, have the "wallowing" wobble, especially on long curves. But this SEEG

Final update......the shimmy/wobble is gone!!  I still don't know what the field tech.  did but I hope to hear soon.  I do know the bike was checked throughout and what was out of spec. was corrected and 35psi was put in the rear air suspension.  I was also told that the '05 owners manual is incorrect and the max air is 50psi  Hopefully I attached a fax from MoCo properly?

I know this will sound out of place to some but the MoCo and their customer service reps. FAR exceeded all my expectations!!!  I know at least 1 of them is here daily as a "guest"  I hope he'll intro. himself sometime........and offer some insight & help to others in need....................who knows [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I know I'll switch to the 440's soon..........just trying to find a decent price.....any ideas?

That's a fairly substantial departure from what is in the owner manual...  could this be why I keep bottoming out?

I hate to say it but yes I hit 100 much to often  and I find the 05 CVO wobbles/wollows a little when I let off the gas.  It also happened on my road king and I assumed it was the engine acting as a rear brake.

CB......I was told raising the air in the shocks does not raise the bike it just stiffens the shocks.  That said....the bike no longer scrapes when I roll it on or off my lift.  Go figure [smiley=nixweiss.gif]    I'm 200lb and ride solo so 35psi works for me!

I got the bike up to 115  a few times Sat.  and she rode like a dream!!  I WOULD NOT recommend or encourage anyone to ride that fast!

One thing I find Lz - the air in the rear (I run mine at 25psi on my FLHTCUI, I'm 149lbs, usually have the missus, who's around 120lbs on the back) loses pressure fairly quickly, down to a level it seems to like - 15psi on mine.  Best to check it regularly. The newer type of pump from the MoCo is great, since you don't really use much when you disconnect it, which I found was a problem with the older type.

Found an advert in the current issue of Hot Bike for a gizmo called the "True-Track" that claims to "stop REARSTEER ! ! ! WIGGLING WOBBLING OSCILLATION ON YOUR . . . HARLEY DAVIDSON DRESSER or ROAD KING with Rear Suspension Stablization Device"  a little pricey to just try though at $395!  They blame it fair and square on the lateral movement of the rubber mounts of the swingarm......
