I agree.  I'll add my PO Box to yours for the contributions.

If anyone is so disposed, and can't stand the thought of riding Japanese, may I suggest the Ducati 996 and of course the H-D Street Rod.

Took my SEEG up to 90+ Sunday on a long sweeping on-ramp that I used to take at 110+ on my Super Glide Sport - scared the bejesus out of me.  Finally got it thru my head that this is not a sporty bike, and that I need to ride it like the bagger it is.

I can't say much about the Street Rod...  haven't done that yet, but I can vouch for the handling of the Duc...    996SST  .....    When you really wanna get there NOW, that's the way to go!

On the other hand,  when I wanna hear the tunes, smoke a cigar, and just enjoy the ride, I have to say my SEEG is the ride I pick the most often...   Maybe I'm just getting old and wrinkly...

We have a pretty specialized bike guys, and I think past 100 or so we're probably asking it to do things it wasn't really made for...

Your right MFG, the law of physics do apply, however, you are completely incorrect in your assumption that a wobble exists in every inline two wheel vehicle.

One of the concerns I had my SEEG in for this week was the wobble and the lower fairing vents closing at speed.

Dealer told me; neck bearings were fine

Completely agree Breeze.  But that doens't mean that, even in my advanced years, that I don't occasionally want to ask it to [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I noticed lately that my bike wanted to do a little dance with me, especially if I was on the gas and coming onto the freeway on ramp. The bike wanted to wag it's tail when it hit the expansion joints. I also noticed that when hitting a bump at speed it wanted to wiggle.
I pulled out the radio and did the swing test and it actually didn't start the 3rd swing, so according to the manual it was tight.
But I just didn't agree with that so I tightened up the neck bearings so that it just completed one swing, which according to the manual would be way too tight. But the manual also says that the bike must be in a totally stock configuration before the swing test is valid.
Mine is not. The WO 575 bars and heated grips being the main difference.
 The results are amazing.
With just about 1/8 nch movement of the star adjuster the bike is now steady as a rock. It is once again a pleasure to ride.
By the way you will need a 1 and 1/2 inch socket so that you can retorque the stem nut, the torque on this stem nut will also vary the swing.

Porthole,
Those vents are supposed to be adjusted during setup, but I bet that only 1 in 20 even bothers to check them.
Every bike that I've set up needed to have them adjusted because they were too loose.

Actually I tightened them a bit before I took it in, didn't get much though before the bolt started spinning in the plastic. [smiley=thumbsdown.gif]

Given the fact that bragging ain't my best thing, I'll give OTIS or HUBBARD a chance to fess up. I wonder what its like to have somebody look back and give you the "come on" wave at 110+ ? I know, let's ask OTIS.
