Has anyone found the cure for the high speed wobble. I thought my new bike did not have it but then today on a high speed sweeper she started the dance . Do the straight 8`s really help ?

David, based on my recent trip to the Smokies, I have to say the Ride-Str8 did not totally take away the wobble.  I still have the wobble, but it is much better than it was in the spring.

Since then, I've had the steering head tightened and lubed, the alignment checked, a new rear tire put on, and installed the Ride-Str8.  Based on how it behaved on roads around here, I thought the bike was totally cured of the wobble.  However, riding the sweepers on 74 and 441 in your neck of the woods, it reared its ugly head again, just not as extreme as before all the work I listed above was done.

Just some random thoughts based on some observation of the comments posted around here, it seems this only pops up after some mileage has been put on the bike.  I also wonder if there is some link between the wobble and the Progressive 440s.  JC reported some instability in his bike after making the change to those shocks, as well as HUBBARD.  If it is not the shocks, then it seems like it must be some combination of swingarm bushing wear, tire wear, front fork oil viscosity breakdown or component wear, or something else degrading over time, as my bike was rock solid in those same exact high-speed sweepers one year ago when it had fewer miles on the odometer. I never had it before I switched to the Progressive 440 HD shocks, however, I have it now.

I might also add that Darrell (from up in Canada) had it so bad that he refused to ride his bike again until HD did something about it.  One of the things that they insisted on doing was switching back to the stock air shocks.  He indicated to me that while it didn't totally eliminate the problem, that it did help to minamize it.

I will probably switch back to the air shocks this winter and just continue to run them at 35 psi.

Anybody else have a simular experience?

The shocks made my bike better.  Noticably.  No wobble (so far).

I felt the wobble on my bike the first time I took a long sweeping uphill highway entrance ramp. Bike was new with the stock air shocks.

I still get the wobble, no less - no more with the Progressive 440's.
