Does anyone remember the part# used that Mobe has in Candy's picture under the lisence plate to cover the black escutcheon?

Mobe said "Order the rear fender trim for a softail deluxe, (about $40), go down to O'Reillys or Autozone and get some double sided trim tape, take some dykes, (no not that kind), (the kind that you snip wires with), snip off the mounting studs on the trim, test fit, apply the double sided trim tape, (made easier if you peel off the backing so it can flex), trim the tape with a single edge razor blade carefully, clean the rear fender, spray a soap and water mix on the clean rear fender, slide on, enjoy."

I tried to find the part number on the HD site, but it is not listed. Since it comes stock on the Deluxe and it is not an extra add on part, you may have to talk to your parts person at the HD shop.  Sure does look good though, doesn't it?

Thanks for the explanation on the "Deluxe"  fender medallion.  It does clean up the back under the plate.    :2vrolijk_21:

welcome to the site, but be carefull here because there are several us that love to help you spend your money...

For starters and to answer your question how about this:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448770885&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302491575&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302491575&bmUID=1177566155578&bmLocale=en_US

WOW, dude, you really do know how to spend my $$, but it does look good, i will have to see how much longer my arm gets, it's always a competition between short arms and deep pockets, specially since i just got the ride! ;D and i am still going to milk the minds of you experienced cvo's before i do a quick fix I'll regret! Thanks and appreciate the idea.

Oh by the way as I sit and think, I have the curved Kurik.. license plate frame all ready on the bike , it looks like the "deluxe" might come up too high on the fender but I'll check...

Hey Jacques,

Since he is a "newbie" (and because he is all around good guy) I started a thread for him, you can see it here

Yeah the problem with HD_Dude (aka Jim) is that not only is he good with ideas and helping to lighten the wallet, but he is a distributor for a lot of the goods. So, he makes it worse by offering expert advice and a discount to boot, he really sucks!

BTW Jim, think we'll get enough for the bearing support?

I went by my dealer this lunchtime and could not find the pictured emblem on a "Deluxe"..  I bought part # 59063-04 emblem for a Road King Custom but it has no black on it and it has self adhesive tape on it.  Anybody know what emblem that Mobe has pictured???  Thanks in advance.

After comparing Mobe's to what I purchased, they are the same except the one Mobe has is blackened in areas whereas mine is all silver and he might have painted the black himself.
