I honestly think we're getting a bit strange when we talk about chit like this, but what the hell, after awhile it does get difficult to find something on the bike that hasn't been modified in some way. Might as well be covering up our shafts with leather  :o as anything else that comes to mind   8)
that is a scary visual! :- :confused5:

Does anyone else have a problem with the Corbin backrest being too low for the passenger. Last weekend, I put the backrest on for the first time, and my little wife couldn't ride behind me because the bottom of the backrest is too close to the seat, not leaving enough room for her legs. The backrest was sitting right on top of her legs. I'm thinking about extending the post about 1" to give her more room.

Anyone else run into this? And what about a way to adjust the angle of the post, not the pad, but the post? I would like to tilt the post a little bit forward from where it is normally. Any ideas?

Chuck, never had a passenger complain of this.  Measuring from the mounting screw's center point to the bottom of the leather mine measures 4 5/16".  From the bottom of leather on the backrest to the seat itself is about 1" measured right next to the backrest post.

That 1" spacing is close quarters.  But of the several different passengers that have been on the red bike none have ever mentioned this.  Perhaps your tour pak needs to go back further to allow a bit more room.  Lots of passengers complain about lack of space back there when the tour pak is all the way forward.

Chuck...I asked Suzanne about this after reading your post and she said that though there is a bit less room for her back there because of the thickness of the backrest back, if that makes any sense, she's still got plenty of room and the backrest does not interfere with her legs at all.  Of course, I've got her floorboards extended 5/8" for the highway pegs now, but she had no problems prior to that install.  Suzanne is 5'3" and about 120lbs.  Me being short, my backrest is vertical. :nixweiss:

Lack of space is an understatement.  Don't see how anyone could possibly fit with an installed backrest.

Any ideas on affecting the lean angle of the post? That will give more room also.

Terry, how did you affect the change in your shaft? The only angle that Ican adjust is the tilt angle of the pad itself.

I had a Corbin on Elvis before I stripped it to redo in the style it is now with the Croc bags and seat. If I didn't have the tour-pak on my wife hated the passenger backrest. She said it hit her everywhere but right

Ain't that the truth. We stuck Pinky on the bike, and she was pretty much pinned to the TP by the Corbin backrest with no room left. Very tight, and she's little too.

Chuck...far as I know, that's the only adjustment there is.  Having her boards out a bit just gets her legs spread open a bit more...and the highway pegs keep her heels off the left header!!!!

It's just a moderate and intermittant obsession, B B.  If I take my meds, everything is fine... ;)
