Thanks for keeping us up to date Gary! :2vrolijk_21:

One day I'll actually learn to use the program too! But for now, at least it's up to date! :o :D

I used the Zumo for the first time going back and forth to York Tues/Wed. It seems to work OK. But it always told me to go the shortest way, which can be good, I guess. But the Zumo ain't from the NE. It wants to send you thru the worst traffic or the most congested ways, instead of the clearest way (which are slightly longer), which I know without a Zumo or a map. WTH do you do in areas you're not familiar with? If that thing routes me thru traffic or conjestion in areas I'm not familiar with, it'll probably wind up in the trash! :nixweiss:

Hoist! 8)
Being from NYC I thought you would be used to that? ;) The Zumo is just trying to make you feel at home. ;D

Seriously though there are settings you can change in Mapsource and on the Zumo itself that will defer from the fastest route(s) (interstate/highways/etc) that might alleviate some of those problems. Never have tried them, but I know there are alternate settings.

No d00d, I'm used to going around it here. I know where not to go. You get bit occassionally. But I can avoid it most of the time here. It would probably take me right into Atlanta's worst traffic imaginable. But that could be on any highway in Atlanta. They have it worse than we do!

And doesn't that Zumo b*tch talking to you, have an attitude when she says "Rerouting"?! ;D ;D ;D

Point taken, but with all the downtime you could spend it reading the manual  :o

I had my  zumo set on the 'shortest route' or 'scenic' or whatever with 'no interstates' and trying to get to the HD shop in Memphis from West Memphis, it routed me thru the city down dead-end streets (that it knew the name of).....so, you have to have the setting configured in different ways for the situation.  It's not good to totally depend on the Zumo w/o a old fashioned map to keep it 'honest'.  But, if you get totally lost in a unfamiliar city, it will (eventually) find a way ..... you may not like the neighborhoods it takes you through, though!  :nervous: har!  :huepfenlol2: spyder

Just in case somebody should read this before seeing my next post.

Do NOT load this at this time there is a bug in the update and Garmin is working on a fix.

Update for POI Loader Version 2.5.1 (click here)

Changes made from version 2.4.2 to 2.5.1:

Added the capability to save gpi files to a user's directory.

Note: Watch for the default directory it tries to load this new version to (C:/Program Files/Garmin) my original and all previous updates have been C:/Garmin so I hit the browse button and put the new version in existing directory. Not sure if it will create in conflicts, but didn't want to take the chance of two versions still loaded on computer.
