I have 3k miles on my SERK. I've owned 21 different bikes in the past 30 years (yes, I know its a disease, my wife reminds me often). Most of these bikes were victims of performance modifcations. For handling and overall long distance FAST touring, the best was the FJR1300 (500 lb dry, 150 hp/99 tq. For overall brute straightline gforce, the Rocket 3(160hp/150 tq). For dragging pegs on the twisties, the Ninja 900 (you had to be around in the 80's). For overall long distance comfort (important at my age), amenities and ease of handling, my Electraglide.
Here's how I rank the SERK vs my other bikes (completely subjective, though I have ridden well over 150k miles so far and still going strong!)
Power: 3rd
Handling: 5th
Touring comfort: 3rd
Looks: 2nd
Mind you, I spend just as much time riding mountain roads as I do highways.

Hey kojak, sounds like with suspension mods, this is the 2nd-3rd best bike you've owned overall. Not bad, out ogf 21 different bikes! I'll let you know what I think of the cartridge front end. It'll be on in 2 weeks! I think it's just what this bike needs. It will clearly be No.1 with me if that does what I expect it to do! :2vrolijk_21: Hoist!

Have only put 300KM (about 180 miles) on mine and find the engine to be very noisy with a clicking sound at most RPM. So unhappy with the noisy engine that it's difficult to appreciate the bike. guess I'll be taking it to the dealer ASAP. Hopefully no serious problems are in store for me. :nixweiss:

The 07 SERK is the only 110" I've ridden and I found it to be amazingly smooth, comfortable and easy to ride. Very enjoyable and gorgeous. Love the clutch.  With a little opening up of the engine breathing it would be spectacular.

ok,,,, I must be weird.
bought my first Harley in Feb,1975.  XLCH(yes, kick start)  rode it and only it for 15 years. it's been chopped a few times, but I loved it. STILL HAVE IT.

in Oct. 1989, picked up the old mans bike. new 1990 Heritage (with push button start)  rode the piss out of it and love it. total different ride then the XLCH. changed it to suit me.  STILL HAVE IT.

bought a RoadKing Custom in July 2005.  changed it to suit me.  loved it,  but fell like a ton of bricks when I saw the new SERK.  could not afford 2 payments,  so I traded it for the new 07 RED SERK.

in 35 years,, I've had 4 Harleys.  the bikes have all treated me great, and yes they have all had their share of problems.  but,  we all indivigualize them to fit our own riding styles or our sizes of for comfort purposes.  it doesn't matter what the bike costs,,  you will change things to suit yourself.  it's going to happen you can't do anything about it.  if your content to ride it just like it was built,,  you might as well be on a generake Hondawacazuwi.

so, I love my SERK,, I love the seat just as it is. handles great, respond to throttle is fantastic,  gears make a touch noise, but it gives it it's own little characteristic feature.  all my bikes had their own little quirks and I wouldn't change any of that. they are all family.

these bikes could come with every feature known to mankind,,,,,,, and a true rider will find something to change to suit himself,, then bitch that the factory should have known that he would want it that way.

that's what makes us who we are.

Hope your all enjoying yours as much as I'm, enjoying mine. :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple:

Guilty of digging bikes of all flavors, Harleyteam! Japanese, British and American. Only have 2 in the stable now, both Harley's. Vendors dont discriminate taking your money, they make crap for all makes and brands. I've enjoyed all my rides, some more than others.

Hey Howie,
I haven't been on the board in a while so I'm behind on things.  I have 4K on my SERK now having just returned from a 2600 mile trip.  The last day was a 600 miler.  As everyone here has said, the bike absolutely screams.  I love the way it accelerates, the way it corners (had lots of fun in northern Arizona around Sedona with cornering) and the way it handles in general.
Now, the bad news.  I have never ridden a more uncomfortable bike.  It doesn't come close to comparing to my RK Classics I've had.  It is so bad that I'm going to move to a SEUC2.  Sorry Howie, I was your wing man in the early discussions about SERK vs SEUC but I'm gonna have to go to the dark side.
Oh, one more thing.  I don't know if I mentioned this to you before, but when I had it dyno'ed, I saw it register 143 mph on the dyno in 5th gear.  God only knows what she'll do in 6th.  My final numbers were 94.73 hp/114.39 Torque.

Sorry to lose you Bob! But it's great to hear from you. That uncomfort on the SERK might be signs of...! ;D I only found that the seat and saddlebags suck. Both easily remedied! I'm raising the suspension back to Standard height too. I'll let you know how the bike felt after a 5000 mile trip I'm doing next weekend, but after 1200 miles, I'm not expecting any surprises. Good luck with the new SEUC! Hoist(diehardroadkingridertiltheend!) 8)

Hi guys,

My five cents:

No whistling (with the stock deflector - I like it -, and additional passing lamps)
Whining after 600 miles, it now has 1,000 and is in the shop for exchange of some parts authorized by H-D, but I have no idea which.
Seat okay so far. I am planning a 2,000 mile trip in a week, hopefully I'll make the same statement after that, with the longest part at 950 miles in a single day.
I have some mods upcoming and will write something more detailed, once everything is completed.
I love the SERK3!

Looking for a litle advice here. Really getting upset with the way this new bike is running during break-in. I have put about 400KM ( 240 miles) on it and found it to be a very noisuy engine, in fact it's making  what sounds like a chain noise with a reaonably loud clacking noise and vibrating enough that  you can feel the buzz through the floorboards even up to 3500RPM . I haven't ran it any higher than that. I am amazed that you guys report that this is the best ride and smoothest ride you've had. I amm pretty fussy about my bikes so maybe overly critical, but after my 05 Classic this motor is scaring me, wondering if it's going to cave in and possibly even seize up without warning. Or possibly I'm being overly critical about this bike and it's charactreristics. I would sincerely appreciate spme honest advise here as my dealer, a great guy and a good dealership who will do anything reasonably to keep me happy, but unfortunatley does not have any experience with these 110's. He wants me to ride it in, rather than trailer it  to his dealership which is abotut 150 Km from home so that it's hot so he can take it out himself to see what  it sounds like. The way it's been going I'm a little apprehensive about taking it that far. God, I'm sounding like an "old lady" here, but this thing, after all the reading and anticipation has me a little worried and disssapointed. Looking at it sitting in the garage is definitely a lot more pleasing than riding it at this point.

Serkus, you shouldn't have that type noise or vibration, if it's as bad as you describe, and I'd trailer it if no one local can troubleshoot it. Hopefully, they know there's some "issues" with the 110" Ask them to check the rocker boxes. They could need clearancing. Check inside the Primary and make sure the compensator nut is not loosened or if there's a problem with the clutch shell/ring gear assembly. They might not be familiar with some of the 110" "issues" over there, but they should be able to locate the source. Hopefully it's something minor, or if not, you caught it early. Let us know how you make out. Hoist! 8)

Don't forget to have pinion runout measured as well....seems they forgot to add any concern as to the finished product quality in the motor shop....The paint is nice however.

The crank runout, which could wreak havoc on everything inside. This should be checked! Hoist! 8)

Yeah, like he said....Rockers not correctly sized, crank run-out out of spec, over lean fueling,   anything else besides a crummy seat for fat guys?

I am driving mine like I stole it whenever I get on it to see if I can break it, no luck yet.
It runs nicely (sert, rh2-1, se ac), alittle stinky on startup or when cold but it settles right out.

Hoist, my black ice bag spoilers are delayed for shipping another four weeks, I also ordered the flame latches ( yes, no?) and a trim strip piece for the top of the bags.  The marbilized triangle will go down the back of the bag and the tank flames on the side.  The fairing is going to the shop this week and a side panel for matching is going with it.
