Yesterday I passed a couple of metrics on the freeway with passengers perched on the rear. Wife commented that it didn't look so comfortable back there. Of course that's a given. Coming up to a caynon area with continuous s turns I thought they would soon pass me by.  A half dozen miles of s turns later (at 70-75) they were still in the distance.  That made me wonder how the sport bikes handle when you add a passenger and put some force on the suspension at speed.  On the other hand they might have been dogging it. The ride was real pleasant with confident predictable handling on the ultra.

Hi and welcome. I was on the motorway recently with my wife on the back, came along some Jap Crap riding two up. They stayed with me up to nearly 120mph when they backed off. I don't think it was that they didn't have the speed - I think it was the abuse the rider was getting from the pillion perched about 18'' above the rider.

Been riding a bagger since 1988.

WHOOHOOO! (oops, off subject)

Me and my buddies developed what we called the 10-10 rule.
If your running along at 65 (or whatever) and a metric starts dogging you, then bump it up 10 mph for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes if they are still there then bump it up 10 more mph for another 10 minutes.
At about the 85 to 95 mph range they finally give up because the wind has beat the "crap" out of them.
It takes a little time but works everytime.

Chip what do you think the depreciation on a BMW will be? Do they hold their value as well as a Harley?

Not sure about a BMW but if your talking about the bike above it's a Sak-a-haki!
Those Kawasaki's are a lot of fun but don't hold value.

Has anyone figured out a way to claim a CVO Ultra as a business expense and NOT go to jail?

If used for work, then the standard IRS mileage deduction could apply.

If you were in the business of selling stuff, like led's, the bike becomes a show fixture, just like any counter or display case.

Yes. Don't laugh but my bike was a write off for three years. I use it for seasonal estimates! I have other bikes that I use for pleasure. ;) Now I wasn't doing this myself, my accountant was. On that note I do use it for estimates. I went on one today. Tape measure and all in the saddlebags. :2vrolijk_21:

Where are these type cruiser riders when I'm out on my Busa? I at least give a small hand wave as I blast by at a good 50mph faster than they are going. On the other side I just shake my head when I'm on one of my cruisers and I get passed at warp speed, dam kids. ;) :huepfenjump3:

For me, it kinda depends on what the GF is riding on the back of the Rice Burners ---  if young and good looking wearing mini-skirt, I let them pass but pace them at whatever speed they go for what ever distance the go!

I was really thinking about a BMW. You never see a used one for sale.
