Progressive fork springs?

Has anyone installed the progressive 11-1131 springs in their SERK forks?  I have the 440's on the rear and just ordered the fork springs.  If so did you preload the spring with the progressive spacer and how much spacer did you use?  I think I''l use the 5 1/2 inches of dry space they recommend with the forks compressed for oil quanity.  Any tips will be appreciated.

I just put them in my 03 SERK.  I used the measurement suggested for the spring spacer which I think was about 1 7/8"  or 2 7/8".  Don't really remember now.  Also I stayed with the recommended 5 1/2" oil level and used stock fork oil as recommended.
 I only rode a couple of time before it got too cold but it seemed to be a fair amount better than stock.  Now I wished I had gone ahead and put in their improved damper rod also.
I also added the 440 shocks for the rear and had to set them as light as they'd go when I'm solo.  But I ride 90% of the time two up so that will change when it gets warmer.
  It's really a pretty simple job.  The hardest part was getting the headlamp nacelle off and back on correctly.  I made a holder for the forks-just bent a couple of pieces of scrap iron to hold them.
 I'll find out more about how I like them when spring gets here  [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

Skippy thanks, I just got them in and will install them tomorrow.  The slip that came says 02-04 FLHR to cut the spacer 1.87".  However ours are lowered and the instructions don't have a description for our bikes.  Will look at it tomorrow when I pull it apart.

That's the same length mine said to cut it to.  The people at Progressive knew that the 03 SERK's were lowered when I ordered these and they didn't tell me anything different on cutting it so that's where I cut it.  According to the instructions if you want to make that length longer, you can, it just increases the preload-which I understood to mean, makes it a little firmer.  The worst problem is that to test ride it you have to put the whole thing back together.
 I cut mine to the 1.87" like it suggested and the ride seems pretty good, although sometimes I think maybe I should have put in their damper rods also.  On the other hand it's cold here now and I've only ridden it about 20 miles total since installing them.
  Post back on here what you do and what you think about it.

I recently installed both the progressive 440 rear shocks (heavy duty 13 inch), and progressive front springs (part #11-1131) with H-D type "E" fork oil. This brought the bike up to stock height. The ride and handling of the bike improved remarkedly! No more wallowing around turns and much more responsive handling. I'm a big guy (6ft 2 / 280 lbs) so this would most likely be to stiff a set up for less beefy riders. I have four turns on the rear shocks and increased the spacer on the front by a quarter of an inch. The regular 440 rear shocks and shorter spacers up front would suit most riders. This is by far the best money spent on upgrades so far!!!!
