HQ did not get to ride yesterday but she approves of the look.  Think she'll like the effect also.  We're having a big ride this weekend and will have a chance to really see how they do.

Like was said, they just deflect heat from rider (and maybe passenger?) but don't think there will be any effect on engine.  I'm not really worried about trapping heat around motor.  I think it can stand a lot more heat than I can for sure. :2vrolijk_21:

I'll be looking forward to hearing what she thinks.  Also, the EZ shifters and billet linkage look good.

I agree.  Can't ride a bike without them!  :2vrolijk_21:

Howie -Just to keep the heat away from the riders/passengers.

Keeps the ribs from getting jabbed as well from too much heat - that sharp stabbing pain that occurs at times when 'she who is unhappy expresses displeasure.'

The SEERT & true duals helped the motor though.

Not from being jabbed.

Nevermind.

BB - Not sure - could be possible.   ;D   You and Twolanerider were rumored to be the same poster or something by somebody.  Early on I noticed that he wrote like the brother I never had and he never had a brother either as I recall.  If we are related it could be from the branch of my family from Texas that fell off the family tree in California or it might have fallen off in AZ and then it was sorta drug along behind the truck until it got there. :nixweiss:

"She who pokes in the ribs and can yell louder than the loudest pipes and falls asleep on the back sometimes" & I have been together for 36 years now.  Happily married for several of them even.

If she was unhappy with those heat deflectors I would know about it.

This must be the optional JTT, that replaces the PTT switch which comes standard on the Ultras ::)

Weird thing about that one is when the fuse blows, it is even more effective.

Absolutely.  There were 2 in a row early on and after that it has been here and there.

I understand.

Not gonna touch that comment with a 10 foot pole though.

Or any other pole.

If some people are reading something into any of this the wrong way, BB and/or Don can negotiate.  I am backing away slowly.  Now some may take that the wrong way too.

If anybody is reading this and taking it the wrong way, then keep it to yourselves. :o

Brothers is close enough for me.  All the rest of the asshole stuff is just details anyway.  Since we're idea men we can live the petty details to others  :2vrolijk_21: .

back on topic, the H-D heat deflectors are black ABS and convoluted as only H-D can make something with regard to attachment. Since I've already got em and don't feel like chasin after the Kuryakn's, I'm gonna keep em, but my advice to one and all here is to go with the Kuryakn's.

Just a PIA B B?  Or do you like the Kury look better?  If its a matter of attachment, I'll let the wankers at the HD shop do it when they put my 13 440's on to replace the wrong 12's they installed.

HQ and I did a little 950 mile ride this weekend and I am happy to report that the H-D heat deflectors had no adverse affect on her passenger riding experience.  They are not "the answer" but they do seem to help.  And I just like their look better than the Kurys, jmo.

Not so much PIA as stupid IMHO. They don't need to be this convoluted. There's a cross brace between em , I mean get real you know.
