Gas Situation???
« on: May 06, 2007, 10:53:57 PM »

Here in the Colorado Springs area anything but regular unleaded is very hard to find. I paid 3.09 for regular unleaded on Saturday. Is it the same situation around the country or is this more of a local issue.
We're leaving for Arizona on a 1 week jaunt and don't know what to expect.
I would like to know two things.
What is the availability of mid and premium gas in your area (especially the Southwest)?
What would you do if the only thing available was regular unleaded?

Bret,
It isn't going to help you much going to Arizona, but in Calif there's no problem with gas, if you've got the money they have it. Paying around 3.50 for premium sure it's alittle higher in the bay area.

Premium is around $3.65-3.75 in the Bay Area, and there's no problem finding it.  Unfortunately with California's environmental BS, all of our premium gas is 91 octane...

Washington second only to California, state avg. here is $3.44 for regular and in Bellingham we are $3.49 avg.

For gas in different locations try GasBuddy.com, here's Arizona postings:  http://www.arizonagasprices.com/index.aspx?fuel=C

Ouch! I guess I'd better stop bitching about the 3.07 I paid this morning for Exxon premium.
But the same here in Tennessee, just go by the bank, make a loan and fill r up. All the gas in all grades you want is available.

Sounds like my trip next week is going thru all the cheap gas places! That's cool. We pay bet $3.35 and $3.60 for 93 Octane. It was just announced on the news that gas is at an all time high, and will hit $4.00 by summer. It's a damn conspiracy I tell ya! ;) Hoist!

I have buddies who try and justify the costs of owning a motorcycle because of the savings of fuel costs. I say BULL! It won't work. Yes, my Jester gets around 40 MPH which is really good, but my buddy is riding along beside me getting 40 MPG too. We could both ride in my truck and get 20 MPG. I just got mine back from 5,000 mile service. The service, new tire worn down at 5,000 miles, and a few other items cost over $500. Add the costs of OCD and insurane. Riding these CVO's is a luxury and I feel blessed to be able to afford it. Shrugs, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it's not cost effective. If we're going cost effectiveness we need Honda 125's.
