New Pipe from V&H
« on: May 11, 2007, 05:08:52 PM »

There's a new pipe out for the V's from Vance and Hines...one of the best looking two into one pipes I've seen for the bike.  My SE slips got scratched on the ends, so I'm considering these or having my stock pipes V-Modded by V Mod.  Makes the pipes have more throat...louder than the SE slips and retain the stock look.

But these V&H's look good and are supposed to really develop some power, and have a good rumble as well.  What do you think?

Conceived at the drag strip and delivered to the street, Vance & Hines 2-into-1 unleashes the roar of the 9,000 rpm Revolution motor and pushes the muscle of the fastest machine bearing the bar and shield emblem to the next level. A complete exhaust system integrating blue proof technology with applications for all models in the VRSC family, 2-into-1 features an elliptical muffler evocative of Vance & Hines performance-centered history.

Definitely has a strong sport bike influence to the design. Is it mid mount control compatible?

Terry,
I like them. Had V&H 2-into-1 on my Fatboy w/performance baffle and loved it. Deep, throaty sound and performance was great.

Mike...the part number is one size fits all...02-07 Vrod, and another part number for the 06-07 Street and Night Rod.

Edit:  fits all VRSC models.  Don't all VRSC models have forward controls?

It's the only pipe I've seen for the V that has the upswept look...most are either staggered like a FB or Dyna stock pipe, or all the two into one pipes run pretty much straight back.  The V, in my opinion, needs the upsweep to hold the lines of the bike intact.  I also like the oval shape on the muffler...it's different.

Thanks for the information...Just placed the Rod in the shop today to correct a few issues.  One of them being performance on with the pipes.

Enjoy.

I hate to say it but I really don't like the look of them. I would like to see a set installed in person. As most of you know I am a very big fan of the Thunder Header. With "V"'s V rod turning over 120 Hp at the rear wheel she is very happy with the Thunder Header.

Awesome, look forward to seeing the #'s when they're installed. Do you feel that they'll push you past 109HP?

It should, Ed...if you believe all the other things I've seen about the two into one's on the Revo engine.  I'm not really doing it for those reasons though.  Since I had a minor mishap with the SE Slips and the tips got scratched up a bit, I need to do something, so this seemed like a good alternative to maintaining some of the lines of the bike, while gaining a bit of power and a bit meaner growl.  I actually like the way the rear header follows the line of the frame, and I THINK I'll like the Oval upsweep on the muffler.  No way to tell except stick em on there and see.

One other benefit appears to be by removing the collector, it brings everything a bit tighter to the lower frame, thus keeping my right calve off the heat shield when stopped.  It doesn't burn, but it's warm...makes me sit at redlights all bowlegged and chit.... ;D
