But man, losing the rider's backrest?  That'd be a tough loss to take   .

Hey! Duane
I looked at those seats yesterday myself, liked the idea of the rumble seat but backed off because of no backrest, My back would really miss it. :2vrolijk_21:

Lock release. This extends back past the fender bolt insert about 4".

This is where the tour pak hits, not even close to fitting.

Bottom of seat showing "adjustable" retainer.
Not sure how this can adjust :nixweiss:
The hole is where the fender pin locks in.

This is the lock pin, mounts in the original seat hold screw location.

If you remove the the "Claw" luggage rack you remove structural support for the rear of your bike. I have it on very good authority that the rear, "loop" "claw" should not be removed. It is there for a reason, to tie the rear supports and fender together.

I took mine off the first month I had the bike.  I just never liked the looks of the luggage rack or the lowered license plate.  Check out my avatar.

So what bracket is that, from the 04?

I like the lowered plate, so if I keep the seat (not likely since neither tour pak will not fit) I'll be looking for something similar to yours.

Part no. 53422-97, bottom support tube from Road Kings, EG's, Ultra's, etc.  My mechanic had one laying in his spare parts box.  As I recall it was somewhat of a bitch to put on as it is mounted between the rear frame tubes under a considerable amount of tension.  I seem to remember more than the normal cussing when I work on the bike.
