I was scheduled to get off of work at noon, so I told Scooter and the Mrs. to come by work at about 11:00 so I could give the boss a sob story about them having to wait on me and that I needed to go ahead and leave. Actually, that plan worked pretty well for us and we were on the road at 11:30.
We went down US Hwy 65 (stopped at the Arkansas state line to lose the helmets) to Hwy 62 and wound ourselves over to Fayetteville, then 71 South. Ended up in Hugo OK and got a room, that left us about 150 miles into Dallas on Sat morning. We got into Dallas about noon, checked in, unloaded and off to Strokers. They weren't jam packed, but there were still quite a few people there. There was a poker run that day, so there were a lot of folks just coming through for a few minutes and then hitting the road again.
The weather was perfect all weekend, I don't think it got above 80 degrees and didn' get below about 60 at night, we didn't run into any rain, you just couldn't ask for anything better. We spent all day at Strokers and left about dark, which was good, any more time there and I wouldn't have been able to get the bike off of the kickstand. We got out of Dallas at 9:30 Sun and back into Springfield at about 6:30 pm. Had a great trip. no problems or mechanical issues, oh, except for the junk, ah, I mean tempermental factory CD changer on the SERG, I can't seem to keep that thing working right. Pictures to follow.
