Hey Rufus,
Welcome aboard. Don't usually set out the welcome mat for every freakin newbie who comes down the pike, but since you're a fellow Mainer I'll make an exception. Don't let these guys rattle your cage. They mean well, ok most of em at least. Suggest you take a ride to NH via RT 25 and check out Meredith H-D. I was there a couple of years ago right after they built the new dealership and it's really nice.

Thank you sir. I sometimes drive my aging mother down that way as she spent summers on Lake Winnepesauakee as a child. I know the area somewhat, where is the Harley-Davidson dealership ?

It's not Gestalt.  It's not even existential.  Ladies and gentlemen, it is The Twilight Zone.  Fasten your seat belts.  Please your seat back and tray tables in their upright positions.  And prepare to cross over.  It might be a bumpy ride.....

Hello, I am new to your website. I have decided that at 57 I have lived the safe life long enough. I am looking for some excitement. I see people riding their Harley-Davidson motorcycles who look like they are having fun. I would like to have some fun. I went to the Harley-Davidson dealership near my home in South Portland Maine and they had so many different motorcycles I didn't know what to do. The nice young man who worked there asked me how much I could afford to spend and I was shocked he would want to know such a thing. Anyway, after he got me to calm down he explained that some of the motorcycles cost a lot more than others. He said the best was something called a Screaming Eagle CVO. He didn't have any of those so I went home and typed in CVOHarley-Davidson and this website came up. So I have registered and looked around a bit and I am very confused. Some of you seem not to like others very much. Do I have to be that way to own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle ?  I am kind of quiet and nerdy I guess you would say if you met me. Could someone suggest what I should buy for a Harley-Davidson motorcycle ? I have seen some pictures of these Screaming Eagle CVO motorcycles on some of these webpages and I like them. I have heard some of these Harley-Davidson motorcycles cost as much as Fifty Thousand dollars. That would put a dent in my savings account, but I am really wanting to do something not so boring as my life has been.

Thank you for your assistance

Rufus

Hi Rufus
There's a saying about Harleys, "If you need to ask, you wouldn't understand".  Your not just buying a bike you are buying into a lifestyle, a brotherhood of men and women from all walks of life all around the world and all with different tales to tell.  I came into biking, late in life, (yes a mid-life crisis) I'm not a speed merchant, if iI was I'd buy a jap bike but I like the wind in my face and a feeling of freedom.  After all it's the ride not the destination that's important.
You need to ask yourself what do you want and before you make your mind up go for and test drive them all.
The other thing you need to bear in mind is if your prone to 2 minute wonders then it can be expensive.  If your not then it could be the most exhilerating time of your life even better than sex....did I say that, did I mean that?
anyway, ride safe.

Rufus,

You most definetly need a Harley! If you are feeling kind of nerdy...the Harley is the
cure. Look forward to riding with you someday!

Is this guy for real? If you are. Buy a Honda Shadow and learn how to ride. Stay off the busy roads till you get some experience.
